Old Skool Choonz/ Odyssey of the mind

Another set from legendary downtown Orlando Fl club scene that was the 1990's. Club Barbarella never had quite the cult following of clubs like Aahz, Firestone or the Abyss but it was still a good club with some eclectic nights. After Aahz officially closed down it started to gain some steam. Top notch DJs like Sasha played there. Here's a rare set from the club from the legend that is Sasha. A September to remember.

This month we have something very special from Chris Fortier, who has genuinely embraced the concept of Just Add Sunshine and gone to a huge effort to produce this stunning set, featuring his own mash-ups and re-edits exclusive to this mix. We'll let you have fun track spotting before posting the full tracklist, but tracks have been carefully sourced from personal favourites from the past 25 years, with artists like 808 State, Leftfield, Bomb The Bass, The Orb, System 7 and The KLF.

Since the early 90s, Chris has been at the forefront of the US club scene, championing progressive house and paving the way for international DJs such as Sasha & Digweed, the later signing Chris up for Bedrock duties as part of the Compiled & Mixed series. Following this Chris, was one of the first names to join the mightily popular Balance mix series, providing 007.
His production skills cannot go unmentioned, his classic track 'Losing Wait' is way up there in the list of my all time favourites and with his own label Fade Records (http://www.beatport.com/label/fade-records/179), Chris continues to produce the goods. Another true prog legend to join the Just Add Sunshine party!

AK's Old Skool Aahz Tribute Vol 12 [8AM On A Sunday Pt. 2]

When i created this mix it was based on my favourite old skool tracks i was hammering at the time. It features 2 versions of one of my favourite tracks of all time, PKA remix of Nasty Rhythm. It's pure genius IMO and it immediately invokes a moody atmosphere - STOMPIN! This mix also purposely includes a few alternate B-sides and remixes to keep you entertained.
