During the election we both found ourselves feeling so saddened by the way friends and families were defining each other by their political opinions. It seemed like instead of being "for" each other, everyone was just "for" their own opinions.

But where does it leave us if we can't look past our preferences and opinions and really see and love the people behind them? 

We can't know the outcome of every situation around us, but we can decide what defines our relationships. That's where this song came from...
