This page is basically a musical journal from a dedicated bedroom DJ. I began recording mixes using a Traktor controller around two years ago. While collecting a lot of techno tracks from Beatport I found began to really enjoy experimenting with different sounds and themes. 

I also collect a variety of other tunes, sometimes from friends or compilations that I like, so I often find myself mixing up some different music based on what I have been inspired by while out clubbing or raving my with my friends.  

Improvisation is a big factor in how I create a mix. After organizing tracks by key/semitone, I usually tag a few notes to each track and then start playing, nothing is tried and tested or copied, that way there are always a few rough or less than perfect mixes but the overall result is more raw and personal piece of music which has more feeling.

As for mixing with TRAKTOR, I have to say that I really love it! The looping capabilities,effects and yes the SYNC button that are available make it possible for me to pay more attention to selecting tracks and creating a mood. I honestly have no idea how to work a CDJ but did learn to mix on traditional Technics 1200's many years ago.

I could name tons of musical influences but it would probably be a redundant list of musicians and DJ's, I prefer to say that I am more inspired by certain clubs and the scenes that surround them such as Fabric, Berghain/Panorama Bar, Kater Holzig/Blau, Tresor, Endup, Public Works and the many vibrant nights put on by all the San Francisco promotors, especially Sunset Soundsystem, As You Like It, Listed, Honey Soundsystem and Stompys.

The artwork used to represent my mixes is created by myself, however the facial collages is based heavily (I basically just copied what they did) on some sleeve designs for some records I bought over 15 years ago by a label call Plasticity which still puts out music on a regular basis. I will however be featuring some of my own designs soon.
