Jazzdination Radioshow 20/04 (Guest-Mix by Stoney The Flute)

Jazzdination´s Christoph Wagner has been spinning in Vienna and around the world for quite some years now. He is the host of Jazzdination Radioshow and performed in international locations from St. Petersburg, Bukarest, Berlin to New York. In this international he played alongside Jazzanova, Dorian Concept, ZerodB (Ninja Tune), Ali Shaheed Muhammad (A Tribe Called Quest) and many more. His eclectic and vivid musical appetite ranges from soul, jazz, afro, bossa, samba, (nu)disco, hip hop, indie, post-dubstep, bass to deep and soulful house. He characterizes his music and DJ-sets simply as „Musical Acupuncture“.

 Before Michael Steindl a.k.a. Stoney the Flute became successful in the Vienna Electronic Scene, he studied classical flute at a Vienna Music school. In the 90..s, at the early age of 16, he began to perform live on stage with a number of Funk bands and his style began to develop towards Jazz and Acid-Jazz. In 2002 he started studying Jazz flute at the Gustav Mahler Konservatorium in Vienna. Getting to know and love the Vienna Electronic Scene he already worked in the studio with notable label artists like Shanti-Roots, Stefan Obermaier (Vienna Scientist), Mauracher (Fabrique/ Universal Records), Karuan (Sunshine), Rodney Hunter (G-Stone) or Karl Möstl and performed Solo in the Club Scene of Vienna by improvising over numerous Dj..s (Scheibosan, Jürgen Drimal, Bionic Kid, Bujaka, Groovebox, Clubcruise). Therefore he’s been working on a variety of projects in the studio and live on stage in Clubs and on Festivals, spreading jazz flute vibes all over Europe.
The song "nu life", stoney's first solo-production, was published on the "Late Check Out Compilation Vol. I" (Sunshine Enteprises). Live, besides supporting The Superfly Radio Orchestra, he’s jamming on the “60 minits of funk” project with the TwinTowas (Circus), Bionic Kid (Waxolutionists) and ITF champ Chris Fader to spread the spirit of ‘groove-edge’ Funk. And of course he is still touring the Clubs playing the flute like hell to get the crowd movin’!
