Today is my Birthday and the funeral of my dear friend Nito Cardona . The originator of and the man who gave me the job at Sa Trinxa . I knew Nito for 20 years and have so many funny  memories of this special character  who was equally adored by so many in Ibiza . 

My fondest memories of Nito where  at Sa Trinxa early in the afternoon or late evening , the music ambient ,   we were able to dream away together to a place without words, just happy emotions and feelings  .

 Ibiza will miss you . Your spirit will always be at Sa Trinxa  and many will remember your kind heart.

  My condolences and highest respect to Nito's mother Katlin ,  brother Guillmo  and his son Victor , family .

This year at Horst we introduced Collective Care, a harm reduction and community care programme to make the festival a supportive and welcoming place for all. Perhaps you saw the team in pink vests during the weekend, or even sought them out yourself in a difficult moment.

Collective Care also included a dedicated restorative space, for which we commissioned a series of mixes from DJs with a keen understanding of nurturing sound: Russell E.L. Butler, Alex Rita, and Lou Drago.

This month’s Carhartt WIP Radio show features the New York-based producer, singer-songwriter, and multi-instrumentalist @keiyaa. 

Born and raised on Chicago’s South Side, keiyaA grew up singing in the Chicago Children's Choir, before studying the alto saxophone. Today, she combines her jazz training with stirring vocals and neo-soul sensibilities to create richly textured, yet introspective music. Her sound touches r&b, hip hop, and jazz, while also venturing into IDM, ambient, and experimental realms. 

For this episode of Carhartt WIP Radio, keiyaA has created a mix that features unreleased music, remixes and collaborative works, creating a deep, spiritual flow of experimental grooves, bouncy bass lines, and fourth-world rhythms, all combined with her signature mix of song, rap, spoken word.

Being totally sober and super aware of reality has created a need to reconcile with the past and heal in the present. Is necessary a time to be kind to ourselves. 
This selection has been an outlet for this emotional state. 
Looking for something that was thought lost. Something like "that thing" that made things special in our surroundings: voices, lights, sounds, silences and subtle sensations. 
It feels like learning to dream one more time.
