Following on from the much-loved 3rd volume of his Beats Installments series last year, the legendary Tokyo based Jazzy Sport label are proud to be sharing the 4th installment of DJ Mitsu The Beats’ seminal collection.

Kicking off with the heavy cosmic funk groove of “sweep”, DJ Mitsu The Beats takes us through a planetary hybrid journey of electric funk, hip hop, jazz, fusion and dub. Some of the stand out tracks include the catchy jazzy drumbreak and extra-think bassline mix-up of “grit”, the Latin American leaning electric piano work-out of” pax” and the summer Weather Report synth fusion of “beaming”, in a collection of jams that knock and lull at equal measures in a perfect balance.

 本作の幕開けを飾るのは、ブラック・コズミック・ファンク・ムードの「sweep 」。この１曲から聞き取る事ができる、エレクトリック・ファンク、ヒップホップ、ダブの独創的なハイブリッドに、のっけから釘付けにさせられる。そして続く2曲目「grit」では、耳を奪うドラムブレイク、ジャズ的な鍵盤のダブワイズな響き、極太のベースラインが現れ、リスナーの鼓膜と身体を立体的に揺らしていく。 更にはWeather Reportを引き寄せたかの様なシンセの揺らぎが心地よいフュージョン・コズミックな「beaming 」、南米的な哀愁を携えた心地よいエレピがエフェクティヴなビートに踊る「pax」、そしてフリーフォームなダンス・ジャズ・アンサンブルが繰り広げられる「bop」、ベリンバウとダブ/エレクトロの奇妙な融合が展開される「frantic 」と、強烈な存在感を放つ楽曲達が、DJ Mixの様なグルーヴ感とムード/ストーリーで紡がれていく。
