Hikoki Gumo  "Mellowdrive”

Hikoki Gumo is an 'absolute improv duo' consisting of Ryuta Cosino, the guitarist of Razoku, and Shigekazu Otake, the drummer of cro-magnon, both three-piece jam bands. This is the very first piece of work from the duo, and includes three extra-long tunes spanning around 10 minutes or so each. The tracks transform freely, rushing from a progressive-ish development into a cosmic four-on-the-floor, and switches from solid funk to a psychedelic session. The duo’s acrobatic exchanges wouldn't let go of your ears. It's a danceable and yet thrilling collection of 'live-recorded' music.
