Vision is one of the earliest songs I wrote, around the summer of 2002–2003. It’s a hopeful, forward-looking song born during a season when music helped me keep moving, dreaming, and believing.

At that time, driving through the suburbs outside Washington, D.C. became a kind of refuge for me — long roads, quiet mornings, and space to think. That imagery naturally found its way into this song, where driving became a metaphor for life, direction, and pressing forward even when clarity wasn’t guaranteed.

Looking back, you can hear a younger version of me wrestling with what “success” meant, expressing big dreams in the symbols I understood then. But at its core, Vision was never about material things — it was a cry to keep going, to stay hopeful, and to believe that a brighter future was possible.

This song captures the optimism, idealism, and determination that carried me forward in those years — and reminds me why music has always been a place of peace, processing, and perseverance.
