Joshua “Bones” Jones, JBone$, is what you get when you add Metaphysics to a Dirty, Hip Hop beat. He has been writing and rapping for over 6 years, working alongside a variety of artists and musicians, leading him close to the release of his first EP. Combining the influences of artists like Eyedea & Abilities, Sadistik, Eligh, Lowkey, Cage, Hemlock Holmes, Wake Self, and the Fresh Breath Committee with the camaraderie of artists like R.X.N, Mtn Menace, and C.S.O. JBone$ creates a lyrical trip that flows like a Freestyle, but hits like a Master's Thesis. Thanks to his own personal drive for uncovering truth through lyricism, JBone$ calls his listeners to question what it means to be Alive and Thinking, Human and taking Action...as well as asking “Yo, who made this sick beat?” Joshua “Bones” Jones was born on July 23, 1991 in Detroit. An uphill journey brought him to Pagosa Springs, CO, where he started laying the thick stones of his road to a Hip Hop future. The adventure began with freestyling as late nights of homework turned into friends beat-boxing in the kitchen corner just quiet enough to not wake parents but just loud enough to let the lyrics flow proud and true. Developing a sense of the power and perpetual nature of the momentum of the word, JBone$ found himself falling for the beautiful woman named Hip Hop. Brief late night encounters with the Mistress Freestyle soon turned into a full throttled love affair, as JBone$ found himself being swept up by the power and spirit of Lady Hip Hop. Freestyles led to written word which led to poems and songs. Finally ready to make the step into the next level, JBone$ called Durango, CO his home as he began to work with Producers and Mixers R.X.O, Mtn Menace, and C.S.O. adding his lyrics to their worthy beats. The gigging followed, bringing JBone$ to Durango and Pagosa Springs’ bar scene, including Buffalo Inn, The Summit, and Moes. He also has jumped on the stages at the Blue Sage Mesa Festival in 2014, as well as impressive venues like Durango's own and beloved Animas City Theater. Combined with live performances with Elder Grown, R.X.N, Mtn Menace, Wake Self & DJ Young Native, Kontrast & Fo Chief (of Fresh Breath Committee), 2MX2 and Ras Daws, JBone$ found himself beginning to feel what it is like to be a true Hip Hop artist. He never looked back. Nearly ready to drop his first EP, JBone$ is taking the professional performance life head on, and he is only gaining momentum. With acceleration, he finds his lyrics and music to be honing in on their reason. His Lyrical direction ever progressing towards understanding the Truth buried away in the Human Experience. JBone$ seeks to answer the big questions with his words and music, “Why are we here? Why do we do what we do? What does it mean to be alive?” Heavy questions are his specialty, as he brings out the light and positivity of life's subjects in what can sometimes be described as a dark, more mysterious manner. Like a light at the end of the tunnel, JBone$ songs use Dark and Heavy Moods to paint the picture and direction of Hope and Purpose.
