The track "She Likes It Dirty" was the first release from The Dirty Unkuls.  It took only about 4 years to get to the point of releasing our first song, so this one was an accomplishment.

Catch 22 - End Of The World

El Camino

"They" say the third time is a charm.  We hope "they" are correct.  Eric, Kyle & Lance wrote the music for this song one Saturday afternoon in a garage in Lake Jackson, TX. in the late spring of 1988.  The lyrics were penned at a kitchen table that same day.  As the members of InAsense were breaking up and leaving L.J. to head to college, Mark was also leaving his band Rokkit (and current Dirty Unkul member Joey Resendis) to do the same.  Mark agreed to be the voice of the song for a recording session Lance was paying for out of his graduation gift money.  We found a makeshift trailer in Brazoria County that was doubling as a recording studio primarily for Tejano Music.  We made it work, and the first edition of Feel The Fire was recorded in the summer of 1988.  Former InAsense member and current MadHatter lead man Jeff Brown laid down some awesome guitar work on that original effort.

Eric, Lance and Mark got together again in the summer of 1989 with a couple of other musicians in Austin to record it again in an Austin recording studio that was working with some artists that were being signed by major record labels.  It was another good effort, but not quite what we really wanted and since Kyle wasn't a participant it felt a little like cheating, and we really didn't have the help of a first class lead guitarist.

So here we are 27 years later as the Dirty Unkuls re-recording and re-releasing for the third time a song that just keeps coming back to us like a crazy girlfriend. Only this time Kyle is back on drums, Joey is ripping the guitar solo, and we got it right.  Enjoy! 


Feel The Fire

The majority of Lost in A Song was written in Alabama around 2001.  It is somewhat autobiographical in nature and much more country than rock.  Back then in Alabama, when Lance was sharing some ideas with the late Wayne Mills (Wayne Mills Band) and Wayne really liked it, Lance knew he wanted to eventually record it.  In 2010 we started putting it together from the original idea and like everything we've done, it got much better with collaboration.  The piano and keyboards really pull this one together along with the lead guitar lick.  We've waited quite a while to release it partially because we have been focused on other efforts, and partially because Lance was hesitant to release a song in which he sings lead.  We still (and always will) record mainly for ourselves.  But regardless, it is time to share this and hope others can get lost in it too.

Lost In A Song

No attempt to reinvent the wheel here! "Leave Love Alone" is another effort exploring the "Love or Let It Go" sentiment. The many distractions of everyday life have a crazy way of making us lose perspective as to what (and who) really matters the most. Sometimes we really don't know what we've got until it's gone. One thing is for certain, when you do find it, "nature's greatest force" is always worth fighting for. Enjoy.....& Love!
