XP (Marshal Quimby Jr.) was born August 7, 1986, in Vermont. Raised in a musical family, his father was a guitarist and musician who played in several local bands and taught XP how to play guitar. XP spent his early to mid-teens trying to start a band but struggled to find a reliable drummer. This led him to embark on his hip-hop journey, having been a fan of hip-hop since 1992. His earliest influences included Onyx, Snoop Dogg, and Naughty by Nature.

Around 2002 or 2003, XP began making demos using a tape recorder. He initially rapped as part of The 202 Crew alongside 10E and Mocash (formerly MC Wreckless), putting songs out on SoundClick.

In 2004, XP became part of the hip-hop group Politiks with Problematic (Arthur Rafus) and Reese 45. Politiks was an evolution of an earlier version of the group founded by Problematic that included Benny B and Behave. Politiks gained local acclaim for their sharp lyricism and chemistry, releasing the mixtape Taking Out the Garbage, which was more of a CD focused on beefing and dissing other local rap acts, showcasing their competitive edge within the Vermont underground scene. Problematic was a major influence on XP’s style and approach, known for his confident delivery and leadership in the Vermont hip hop scene.

In 2005, XP joined Breadtruck Productions, a Vermont-based collective known for its raw, gritty sound. Members included J-Bust and Ill D. Though his official membership lasted from 2005 to 2006, XP has continued to collaborate with Breadtruck artists intermittently since then. XP contributed to Breadtruck Volume 3, which featured standout tracks like North Side Anthem and Who You Be.

XP’s first notable commercial appearance came in 2006 on the Secret Archives Vol. 1 compilation by Anno Domini, credited as XPlicit. This was a commercial release that exposed XP to a wider underground audience.

In 2007, XP released a demo simply titled XP, consisting of leftover recordings from Breadtruck sessions. That same year, he appeared on the Back for More mixtape from 10 Eleven Productions alongside 10E and Mocash.

From 2009 onward, XP began releasing solo mixtapes regularly. His first solo mixtape, By Myself, came out in 2009, with all songs available on SoundClick and ReverbNation. In 2010, he followed up with Lost Verses. The next year, 2011, he released Troubled Mind, which featured contributions from Problematic, J-Bust, Mista Roze, and others. In 2011, XP also partnered with Jamell NYT—a Vermont rapper and singer—to release the Step Aside mixtape, blending lyrical rap with melodic vocals.

In 2012, XP released the mixtape Standing Still and formed the duo HellRazorz with Raw Deff. Together, they released two mixtapes, including 2 Hell and Back, known for its aggressive lyricism and intensity.

Between 2014 and 2015, XP released the album 1986, a highly regarded project in his discography featuring tracks like Theme Song, Question, and Hold On. The album showcased his growth as a lyricist and artist.

From 2016 to 2019, XP dropped a string of singles including Fragments, Show Appreciation, All Honest, and All the Time. He also featured on the Hitmen for Hire mixtape alongside Yung Breeze and Raw Deff during this period.

In 2020, XP released two albums representing a shift toward new school hip-hop sounds. Doubletime, produced entirely by No30, featured tracks such as Call Me, Saturday the 14th, and Nothing to Lose (featuring Yung Breeze). The album explored themes of relationships and personal struggles. His other 2020 album, SAM (Sad As Me), contained darker, introspective songs including Sad As Me and The Funeral, the latter telling a vivid story of violence and aftermath.

XP has opened for major hip-hop acts including Black Rob, Bizarre (on the I Lace Blunts Tour), Cory Gunz, Maino (on the KOB Tour), and R.A. the Rugged Man.

Throughout his career, XP has been a central figure in Vermont’s underground hip-hop scene.

Ryan got dubbed the name Remy while living overseas in Australia as a Personal Protection Officer. His unique skill set has kept Remy out of danger since his training and have helped him evolve and train others in life events. He has since shifted towards something he was always interested in...MUSIC. Since a young age he was involved in music, with his mother being a organ player. Remy use to mimic his mother on his toy piano as a child. As Remy grew older he became more and more interested in piano and taught himself how to play numerous songs. Within the course of 1 week Ryan taught himself 10 different songs, that were hits on todays radio. After Remys' mother passed in 05', he still pursued his gift of music and decided to further his talent. Remy went to college at Madison Media Institute, and majored in Audio Engineering & Recording Arts. His ability and creativity set him apart from others in the Mid-West area. Remys' talent and creativity has helped him shift a new direction in music. There is no denying the fact that Remy is a new up and coming producer who's music will make a distinct change in history. Remy is hands down of the most creative and diversed producers in Wisconsin, with his creative ability to think outside of the normal trend that so few are able to do.
