This album is a global effort to connect the different tribes and scenes around the world to come to a more openminded and sustainable human society.

The music was contributed by members of the Tribal Bass FB group;

and compiled and mastered by Hentopan aka dustrickx, a tribal bass promotor from Belgium.

For easter 2021 ( on 4/4 this year) we release this new compilation with the best in tribal bass music as a dedication to the group and the entire scene and a way to cross international boundaries and bring together the world in a year of reconnection.

Tribal Bass is a mixture of genres ranging from styles using idm-ish breakbeats and fusion trip-hop over ethnic instrumentals, global trap to psy-dub, experimental bass and glitch-hop. It is known as a danceable downtempo style for psy-heads and nu-school hippies and is usually plaid at chill out or second stage areas in European psychedelic festivals, but it also hits the main stages in US, AU, NZ and Can. I made this while staying near the beach in La Jolla, California. I tried to have the electric piano shine in the first section, followed by the strings in the middle, followed by the pitch-bendy synth in the denouement. Let the flow of the music take you places. 〰〰

Escape Velocity

I tried to give this track a rough texture and a smooth ambience at the same time... like a glowing amber sunset over a gritty urban landscape. I also had a bunch of fun playing with computer-y beep boop noises and transforming them into distorted electric guitar-like sounds. :::===C=o=)

JC++, a producer and DJ with Midwestern roots, was classically trained on piano, clarinet, and bass guitar. Now living in NYC and armed with a laptop and headphones, he plays with electronic music as a universal language that anyone can connect with.

His progressive house tracks create a fun mood in a range of spaces, from casual apartment hangs to dance floor parties. Layered vocals and intricate soundscapes turn his music into vibrant journeys, keeping the energy going with a whimsical touch.
