Quiet Days

A few weeks ago I first heard https://soundcloud.com/user-369089703/stay-original and could already feel the words filling my head before it had finished playing. The song reminded me of a favourite band of mine, Procol Harum because of the piano/organ arrangement. I asked if I could try to make a collaboration out of this wonderful melody and Pascal kindly agreed. Thank you so much for the opportunity Pascal and thank you for listening.

Clouds in treetops,
is for the time being the last title of my sound expeditions into the forests, to the animals and their voices.
Even if climate change (or precisely because of it) brings forth conflagrations, we may, no, must have the forest and its beauty in focus. We cannot live without forests. Protect the forests from drought, dryness, deforestation, overexploitation and us humans.

ist vorläufig der letzte Titel meiner Klangexpeditionen in die Wälder, zu den Tieren und ihren Stimmen.
Auch wenn der Klimawandel (oder gerade deswegen) Feuersbrünste hervorbringt, dürfen, nein, müssen wir den Wald und seine Schönheit im Fokus haben. Ohne Wald können wir nicht leben. Schützt die Wälder vor Dürre, Trockenheit, Rodung, Raubbau und uns Menschen.

This is the 6th song posted from the album I started using demo tracks given to me by Wou-Wou & the Wormling during the start of the pandemic! This song was inspired by the mass shootings that plague the United States and the lack of progress this society and government makes toward increasing the safety and well being of all. I was recently surprised by an article in support of the “good guy with a gun” solution in a mainstream liberal news article. It’s basically the wild wild west out here still, lol. 

Big thanks to Wou Wou, Bit-zone, and Stricknice for sticking with me through this long project and being an awesome group to work with. And big thanks to The Magnetic Dog Sisters for working with me on this second track. I love their fresh experimental sound!

Cosmic Convergence

Recalling some tequila, love words and more with them in that Ibiza bar, I wondered: “What if Pink Floyd met the spirit of Camarón de la Isla… in my bedroom?” I used lots of guitars, basses, etc. on a 12/8 beat, to enclose 3/4, 6/4 & 8/8 rhythms along.
