This week on There Is No Planet Earth Radio - I’m very excited to welcome guest DJ Tedd Patterson - For this week i’ll be airing a live recording  of his from Club USA 1993 

“Tedd Patterson is house music royalty. He has headlined with the top DJs in the world; he has released music on the most respected labels in the industry; and he has played a pivotal role in the spread of house music across the globe. Tedd’s boldly creative sets at the Magic Sessions (Miami WMC) inspired generations of clubbers and DJs, conferring on him legendary status alongside Tony Humphries and Louie Vega.

Tedd’s been spinning since the late 70’s with his ethos of “no musical boundaries—only musical journeys,” and his style owes as much to the past as to the present. His distinctive sound has earned him not only a huge, global fan base but also a career of impressive breadth and longevity. He has headlined Ministry of Sound in London, Pacha in Ibiza, and Panorama Bar in Berlin. Tedd has also brought his signature sound to Moscow, Tokyo, Montreal, and Naples.

Tedd gathered a following early on in the NYC music scene, with underground East Village parties at Sugar Babies and Save the Robots that have now evolved into regular gigs at destinations like Output, Flash Factory, and Le Bain. His Vibal party at uber-cool hotspot Cielo led to a 13- year residency and a whole new fan base. Tedd was chosen to play the first US Glitterbox at House of Yes with Simon Dunmore and also performed a ground-breaking seven-hour performance for visual artist Nick Cave at the Park Avenue Armory.

Tedd’s work in A&R and Promotion at Emotive Records during the heyday of New York dance music expanded his musical talents beyond the DJ booth and eventually led to his production debut. “Welcome to the Magic Session” was released on the iconic Strictly Rhythm label, and collaborations with heavyweights Eric Kupper, Pete Heller, and Chus & Ceballos followed soon after. His edits of Black Science Orchestra, Alicia Keyes, and Bjork, have gained cult status in the house underground.”

On their favorite track: The track I would like to highlight is the Serge G. 'Work It Out (DJ Holographic Remix)'. Alinka & I released it a few months ago on Twirl and it's a total family affair and a banger! I met Serge quite a few years ago when he was still residing in Stockholm, via an old friend from NYC. He's contributed remixes on Twirl before. He's also featured me in a short film he created "A Child Of House: Shaun J. Wright", that includes some of my closest friends in the world; the eternal Aerea Negrot, Alinka, Jacob Meehan, Madison More and Sir Jacobs. DJ Holographic is one of my dearest friends and having her join the Twirl musical family feels so appropriate. It's always a blessing to collaborate with people you love and admire.

Jacob Meehan's set at Lecken was the talk of the Play Pit. The WHOLE Ambient stage curator and Kwia mainstay shared a more intimate side of his collection with us. Dubbed out electronica merge with smooth throwbacks while ethereal jazz gets sprinkled with 80s synths, making us nostalgic for the age of our lost innocence. We swayed and swooned down memory lane, counting our blessings beneath the inverted crosses of the Play Pit sky, only to emerge again in the warm embrace of trusted friends or strangers, all within the breadth of @jacob-meehan's expertly concocted seance.
