Victoire is Missy Mazzoli (compositions, keyboards), Mellissa Hughes (voice), Olivia De Prato (violin), Eileen Mack (clarinet), Lorna Krier (keyboards), and Eleonore Oppenheim (double bass). 

This “all-star, all-female band” (Time Out New York) of voices, strings, keyboards, clarinets and electronics performs Mazzoli’s hypnotic blend of dreamy art pop and rich romanticism, enveloping the listener in a tapestry of classical influences, distorted guitars, multi-layered vocals, vintage keyboard sounds and stuttering samples.  Victoire has performed all over the world, most recently at Carnegie Hall in a collaborative performance with Wilco drummer Glenn Kotche as part of the Ecstatic Festival.  Victoire is currently working on its sophomore release of Missy's music, Vespers for a New Dark Age, a collaboration with Kotche and electronic producer Lorna Dune due out on New Amsterdam Records this spring.  Their debut album Cathedral City, was named one of 2010′s best classical albums by the New York Times, Time Out New York, the New Yorker and NPR, and Pitchfork praised the group for “condensing moments of focused beauty and quiet conviction from the pandemic distractions of modern life. (7.8)” NPR’s First Listen asks “Is Victoire’s music post-rock, post-mimimalist or pseudo-post-pre-modernist indie-chamber-electronica? It doesn’t particularly matter. It’s just good music.”

Broad gestures and rich textures are hallmarks of the “compelling” (The New York Times), “deliciously wistful” (San Francisco Classical Voice), “personal, expressive, and bold,” (I Care If You Listen) music of composer Alex Weiser. Born and raised in New York City, Weiser creates acutely cosmopolitan music combining a deeply felt historical perspective with a vibrant forward-looking creativity. Weiser’s debut album and all the days were purple, was named a 2020 Pulitzer Prize Finalist for Music. Released by Cantaloupe Music in April 2019, the album includes songs in Yiddish and English and has been praised as “ravishing” (The New Yorker), “reverent and magical... devastatingly beautiful,” (American Record Guide), “gorgeous” (Tablet Magazine), “utterly original and exquisitely unsettling... sweeping, bewitching, divinely dissonant... pitch-perfect.” (In Geveb).

Weiser recently completed an opera with librettist Ben Kaplan called State of the Jews. Hailed as “stunning, heavenly, marvelous” by Israeli National Public Radio, the opera is based on the life of Theodor Herzl and juxtaposes a historical narrative focusing on the last year of his life, with the more intimate story of Theodor’s conflicted relationship with his wife, Julie Herzl, and the toll his political views and activities took on their family life. Developed as a part of a two-year fellowship with American Opera Projects, the LABA fellowship of the 14th Street Y, a Roulette residency, and with support from the ConEd Exploring the Metropolis Composer Residency program, the opera received a series of preview performances at the 14th Street Y in December 2019 and awaits a premiere production.

Reinhard Fuchs, born in 1974, first studied accordion at the Bruckner-Conservatory Linz (1991-1995). After that he completed his studies in composition with Michael Jarrell (1995 - 2002) at the University of Music in Vienna. 1997/98, Fuchs attended studies at the University of Miami in Florida. Courses with B. Ferneyhoug h, M. Stroppa, M. Lindberg, K. Huber were further important stimuli for his work. 

Next to commissions of renowned ensembles and organizers, Reinhard Fuchs can also refer to numerous international prices and distinctions (1st prize at the 7th international composition competition Salzburg, the 2nd prize at "stasis et vita" / Germany, the special prize of the Foundation Royaumont / FRA, 2001 the Anton-Bruckner- Prize, 2003 austrian grant for composers).

In 1997, he founded together with colleges the composers group GEGENKLANG. 

His works were performed by ensembles such as Klangforum Wien, RSO Wien, Mozarteum Orchestra Salzburg, Basel Sinfonietta, Les Percussion de Strasbourg, Arditti Quartet, Wiener Klaviertrio, Trio Amos,… & by conductors such as Johannes Kalitzke, Matthias Pintscher, Beat Furrer, Sebastian Gottschick, Fabrice Bollon, Annu Tali, Susanna Mälkki… at Festivals such as Wien Modern, Salzburger Festspiele, Musiktage Donaueschingen, Musikprotokoll at Steirischer Herbst, Hörgänge, Konzerthaus Berlin, Contemporary Music Festival Alicante, Soundings London, Warehouse London, Festival Latinoamericano de Musica (Caracas / Venezuela), New Music Festival Sound Ways (St. Petersburg / Russia), Venezuela Festival Internacional „a tempo“ (Caracas / Venezuela)...

He is regularly teaching masterclasses for composition and is giving lectures on his and other music. 

Since 2009, Reinhard Fuchs is artistic director and general manager of PHACE (www.phace.at).

In 2014, Reinhard Fuchs received the Erste-Bank-Composition-Prize. In 2016 his portrait CD was released at label KAIROS.
