When they were teenagers Derby lads Johnny and George Marriott played in an unpredictable and chaotic punk band, storming the Midlands old-school scene with their often unintentional discordant pop. After the inevitable implosion, Johnny ran away to Norwich and didn’t stop running for the best part of a decade. In late 2015 George quit his job in Derby and traded it all in for the spare room in Johnny’s flat in Colchester.

The first incarnation of PET NEEDS was born in early 2016. 

After a drunken house party in January Linton awoke on Johnny’s sofa as the bass player of PET NEEDS and in September, after months of unpredictable drummers, impending lawsuits and attempted bandmate robbery, Jack was auditioned as the man behind the kit. A few cymbal spins later and the line-up was complete.

PET NEEDS are four lads who through the nature of chaos all landed in Essex, wide-eyed, out of breath and ready to create something huge. With explosive live performances of fractured anthems, PET NEEDS are currently smashing sets throughout the East, screaming stories of chance meetings, self-destruction, perceived freedom and woods.

Their debut EP, “…As Kites Fly By Pylons” is out 31st March.
