Developed on the foundation of an incredibly eclectic melting pot of influences, the Playmode aesthetic is fuelled by this vast reservoir, crafting their sound, which is built for the dancefloor. It was once rumoured of the mysterious pair that a Playmode song slowed down and played in reverse was the sound of 10,000 pretty girls dancing.
 
A discography swelling as fast as their heads upon a #4 Beatport chart placing for their most recent single, Playmode's penchant for quality house music is astounding. Already with a host of releases on such revered labels as Play It Down and Exploited, a lasting impression was made with their underground hit single 'Ultrasonic', which achieved cult support amongst tastemaker DJs. It was said of Ultrasonic "You might know it from an Amine Edge & DANCE mix. If you've heard the same live recording we're thinking of, then you probably remember this guy in the crowd freaking out completely when they dropped this track." - a sentiment that resonated through the entire house music community.
 
'Not Hit Enough', their recent collaboration with Jesse Rose, sought praise from the highest echelons of the biz. Namedropping was made easy with support from Joe Goddard, Mark Farina, Huxley, Rampa, Andy Daniell, Pete Tong; it seemed that the record was, in actual fact, hit enough.

Harriet is a label with a focus on persistent grooves and subtle polyrhythms. This project promises to spotlight both friends of Harriet and established heroes.

Hunter Gatherer is seeking to fill a void in Sydney's music landscape, to build a record label that promotes electronic music that is uncompromising, passionate and human. While the label's sonic palette is indebted to the tropes of techno, Hunter Gatherer does not seek to push certain sounds or genres, but rather an attitude; a focus on fostering organic musical personalities and artistic self-determination.

While much electronic music seeks to remove traces of human authorship, Hunter Gatherer embraces flaws and idiosyncracies, chance and spontaneity. Sometimes it seems that electronic music places a premium on a sense of perfection and functionality; Hunter Gatherer releases music that exists for its own twisted logic, not what works or what is right.
