Tash's Movement Recordings rounds out the month of October by welcoming Blancah back to the label for her debut single. First emerging nearly a decade ago with 'Who's That' via Berlin powerhouse Steyoyoke, Brazilian artist Blancah has become one of her country's most recognized electronic music exports. In finding the creative sweet spot between melody and groove, the Florianópolis resident has compiled an impressive resume, showcasing her music via Einmusika, Renaissance and her own Hiato imprint. Also well established as a DJ, Blancah has travelled the globe, showcasing her impeccable taste and exquisite programming skills at some of the world's premiere venues and festivals. Movement Recordings has also been a home to Blancah, with a 2018 remix of 'Nemesis' by Paul Anthonee marking her label debut. Now, following a remix for Proton's Particles, Blancah makes a welcome return to Movement for her first single 'Vertical Horizon', alongside remixes from Mila Journee and Morttagua. The original mix sets the tone for the release and finds Blancah showcasing her dancefloor minded ethos. Its dominant presence is anchored by rocketing beats and powerful percussive flashes, tastefully building to a wild-eyed intensity of percolating acid lines and pyrotechnic designs. With a peak-time energy that exudes spirit, Blancah pulls from her expansive repertoire as the main break takes shape, infusing orbiting effects and deconstructed sonics with a vortex of filtered acid; resulting in the ultimate dancefloor rush. Making her label debut with the first interpretation of 'Vertical Horizon' is Mila Journee. Hailing from Brazil, Mila Journee has enjoyed a rapid ascent in the world of electronic music. Although her debut came in 2017, the Brazilian talent has already compiled an impressive resume. Releases on Diynamic, Renaissance and Ritter Butzke sit as discography highlights, while the world's most influential DJs such as Solomun have championed her music. In what has been her best year to date, Mila now adds Movement Recordings to her portfolio with a fresh rendition of 'Vertical Horizon'. While maintaining the elusive spirit of the original, Mila aims squarely at a peak hour dancefloor with a sweeping sonic experience all her own. An exhilarating journey where mesmerizing machine progressions, striking stabs and chunky basslines surface from their groovy architecture, for an exhilarating sonic experience. The release concludes with Morttagua who returns to the label for his second appearance. As one of Brazil's foremost progressive house producers, the Rio de Janeiro resident has firmly etched his place in the genre's history. As a permanent fixture in Beatport's sales charts, Morttagua's productions have graced long standing imprints such as Beatfreak, Blackhole, Univack, and his own Timeless Moment imprint; while world class DJs Eelke Kleijn, Hernan Cattaneo, Nick Warren, Sasha, Solomun, Tale of Us and more have supported his work along the way. With Morttagua's Movement Recordings debut coming in 2021 with a remix of 'Arctic' by Alexandros Djkevingr, Greg Ignatovich and Rauschhaus, the Brazilian artist now finds his way back to the label with a nostalgic take on 'Vertical Horizon'. We’re back in the capital with the 11th installment of the “Stil vor Talent Berlin” compilation series, which brings forth a group of old and new faces exclusively contributing tracks, gathered under the umbrella of one of Berlin’s refreshing delights – Spreepark.

With the fall of the Berlin Wall in 1989, the merry-go-rounds of the initial Kulturpark Plänterwald along the Spree River continued to spin, reborn as Spreepark. The fairground flourished until 2001, enticing Berliners with roller coasters, a Ferris wheel, and a vibrant cultural program, transforming the riverbank into a verdant oasis of enjoyment. However, in 2001, the wheels of time came to a halt as nature reclaimed its space. Amidst the city, flora and fauna flourished, turning Spreepark into a mystical realm that captivated urban explorers navigating through the overgrown remnants of the past.

In 2016, a new chapter unfolded with the initiation of plans to rejuvenate Spreepark through collaborative efforts with Berliners to redefine the space. Jumping ahead to 2023, the city unveiled the first glimpse of the renewed Spreepark with the opening of a beer garden at the historic Eierhäuschen. The vision of a park seamlessly blending art, culture, and unique urban nature is gradually taking shape, with the entire Spreepark anticipated to welcome the public in 2026.

As always, music is the common denominator here and Oliver Koletzki delivers the perfect soundtrack with this new release, while Chrisse Kunst renders the visuals. The featured artists on this exceptional compilation include Jan René Lai, Kellerkind, Deckert & Sascha Home, Malandra Jr., Mila journée & Kiko, Jiggler & Vincent Marlice, Local Dialect, Annett Gapstream & Daniele Di Martino, Fur Coat, Robin Schellenberg & Rauschhaus, Ark Nomads & Cosmosolar, Steve Six, Björn Störig, and Deniz Kabu.

As the melodies of Stil vor Talent resonate, they serve not only as a musical tribute to Spreepark’s rich history but as an invitation to partake in the unfolding symphony of the park’s vibrant future. Join the ride!

Losless release their debut EP, Chrome, designed to entrance those on the dance floor with its haunting texture and rhythm. Across the four tracks featured on this EP, Losless conveys a deep commandment of the interplay between a song’s arrangement and the club ambiance.

The title track, “Chrome”, makes use of syncopated synthetic tones to add depth to the track’s presentation that entices the listener. Elements introduce and relegate themselves in the quest for providing an evolving experience whilst maintaining a strong foundational rhythm. 

“First Purr” delves further into the usage of rhythm that allows the listener to identify new aspects upon numerous visits. A progressive song structure that leaves people guessing. 

“Scars and Fireflies” is a minimalist song structure that finds importance in its usage of filter adjustments as a means of providing exciting build-ups certain to please many. 

The final track, “Beast”, features consistency in its drum programming that is certain to keep the listener locked to the dance floor whilst providing complexities suitable for home listening.

Chrome represents a continuing trend of high-quality, intelligent techno found on Steyoyoke. Followers of the label will not be disappointed with the versatility presented by this four track EP.
