Tale Of Us - Another Earth

Lost Trax embody the idea of underground techno. The shadowy group, members unknown, began their music careers over 20 years ago. Output may be low, but quality is high; the style being no compromise techno brilliance. And that’s what’s on show here. Kick drums and squirming acid bars are at the core of “Faith”, a track where soaring strings shift and reshape. The chiselled claps and barbed bass of “Flatliner” follows, taking its cue from the heyday of Detroit. A watery world of analogue abstraction greets the listener on the flip, “Lost” being an atmospheric journey into to the squelching swamps of the TB303. Sniping beats introduce the lush tones of “Renderer.” Blurring the lines of electro and techno the track is an elegant end to an EP of deep and dense layers.

Out soon! This playlist previews the reissue of one of Amsterdam’s most respected producers Steve Rachmad aka Sterac 's essential 1996 Detroit techno classic. Remastered and available with full color artwork.

Sterac is considered an excellent producer and he is one of the Dutch pioneers of Detroit techno, producing this absolute classic back in 1996. On the A side you'll find Osirion, a track built on a classic drumloop layered with Rachmad style arppegiators and euphoric strings. The B side features a more abstract 909 Detroit infused loop, full of heavy synths and percussion. Both tracks have stood the test of time and still sound fresh as ever.

expanding the Afterlife totality into a label. The label and events will complement each other with one
aim; to bring the crowd into another dimension of music perception with enthralling production to that
ignite the senses.
The ‘Realm Of Consciousness’ voyage commences with Tale Of Us’ Lies - a fitting introduction with
quivering keys and restrained percussion that engenders an ominous suspense ahead of Monoloc’s
enigmatic industrial techno crunch, Phoenix. Shifting through the haunting chords of Recondite’s dynamic
Murphy’s Law, to the brooding synth of Poseidon by Ukrainian duo Woo York, the realisation of Afterlife
utopia is upon us. The repetitive, mesmerising synth and effective reverb that Somne creates with Triangle
is an odyssey within itself. From there, John Hester’s expertly woven ‘Logan’ is a feverish techno stab that
transverses through the emotional senses, transitioning to Locked Groove’s adroitly crafted Emeralds, to
Ryan James Ford’s ambient, albeit percussive, techno cut Toree Bahrstad. Die Wiederkehr is the outcome
of Obscure Shape & SHDW’s collaboration, which incorporates facets of techno and trance that have
been shaped with real guile and finesse. Mind Against round off the compilation with Gravity - a
mystifying ambience and a fitting title as we touch back down to planet earth.

Bjarki just dropped the first part of a 41 track archive released over three LPs... whatever you do, don't call it an album. The three LP's will instead represent a snapshot of his genre-defying archive.  The three LPs aren’t albums in the traditional sense - the concept was simply to release the contents of his burgeoning hard drives. 

The first part of the three part archive is cyrillic for "B" and although all the tracks are solid, there is one that stood out to us in particular. "The Lover That You Are" kicks off with some ethereal pads and filtered down percussion that slowly begins to reveal itself in full as the resonance gets turned up to eleven to suddenly drop you into a break-heavy moody Techno banger. One of the best qualities of this track is how skilfully it plays with tension and release and honestly we can't get enough of it. We get all dubby with our next release from uber talented Stefan Weise and a remix by the awesome Sierra Sam

Settled in the US via Italy and Germany, Stefan Weise has been producing music for 2 decades and delivers 3 tracks of his trademark Dub Techno. Heavily influenced by the sounds of Detroit and Amsterdam and by artists such as Kenny Larkin, Carl Craig and Steve Rachmad. Deep, lush textures and drum-heavy productions are ubiquitous to Stefan’s sound. His monthly “Blue Industries” show has run on Proton radio for 10 years now.

On remix duty we have Sierra Sam. With original releases on labels such as Pets Recordings, Holic Trax, Upon You, Dirt Crew, Serialism (the list goes on and on) and his infamous live sets with the mighty Kink and Yapacc, Sam’s profile and ability is up there with the very best of them. We are very excited to have Sam join our roster, look out for a 3 track EP from him in the next few months on Wolf Trap.
