“Do what you love and the rest will fall into place” is a way of thinking that DJ Big Jacks has built his career and life on. In his case the labour of love has always been music. His passion for it, fueled by the inspiration of his father and family upbringing helped elevate Big Jacks’ interest in the arts from a hobby he loved to his livelihood.

Before even touching the turntables young Jacks spent time going to record stores with his dad to pick up the latest calypso releases. Now in a digital age where most people don’t look passed their favourite mp3 website for music you’ll still find Big Jacks going that extra mile to uncover the latest tune or forgotten gem in your local record store, thrift shop, or even a dusty warehouse basement all over the world. To Big Jacks there are no boundaries when it comes to finding and exposing new music to share.

It’s the mentality to dig deeper than just what the surface offers that Big Jacks carries with him as an outlook on life. While his humble beginnings were as a hip hop DJ using his lunch money to buy the newest albums, today no genre is overlooked when he creates his musical landscape. Every day brings a new opportunity to learn and expand on his craft. It’s because of this that he has been able to rise and become one a premier DJ locally and abroad, able to create that perfect vibe whatever the occasion. Whether it is getting the dance floor going or simply providing an atmospheric backdrop and soundtrack, he is able to tailor the sound to compliment any mood.

Big Jacks has made quite the name for himself in recent years as the official DJ for the popular women’s clothing store Aritzia. Currently, he works with the company to create a culture and an identity with its target audience. He curates and programs playlists for all their North American store locations, and his mixes and music have surpassed the million plays mark on Soundcloud alone. Big Jacks has found an effective and refreshing way to connect and influence their massive international customer base every day. His work has also been played heavily in other notable stores around the world like H&M, Forever 21, Top Shop, and many other cool boutiques and restaurants. All of which has led to him playing all over North America for those who love the work he creates.

He's made multiple appearances where he has played and been interviewed on one of the biggest radio shows in the world, Sway In The Morning, on XM Radio’s Shade 45 channel. How Sway? Because working smart pays off. The highly regarded program is one of the most popular outlets for the world’s top musicians, actors, athletes, etc to be spotlighted as it broadcasts globally to millions of listeners worldwide each day.

Most recently, Big Jacks has forged a new lane for himself as the co-founder  and operator of GGBR Records & Tapes along with his partner Bozack. The record label is a platform for them to release not only their own music in a tangible form (with a focus on vinyl and cassette tapes), but projects from other artists they truly believe in and stand behind, with a number of their releases already sold out to customers from North America, Europe and Asia.

Everything Big Jacks achieves and every hurdle that he overcomes is because he has stuck by doing what he loves to do while working smart and hard. He consistently demonstrates finely tuned technical skills in his work, with an attention to detail, but it’s his passion for music and life that shines through to connect him to his audience and create a fan base that truly trusts, respects and supports what he does.

Rudy Francisco is one of the most recognizable names in Spoken Word Poetry.  He was born, raised and still resides in San Diego, California. At the age of 21, Rudy completed his B.A in Psychology and decided to continue his education by pursuing an M.A in Organizational Studies. As an artist, Rudy Francisco is an amalgamation of social critique, introspection, honesty and humor. He uses personal narratives to discuss the politics of race, class, gender and religion while simultaneously pinpointing and reinforcing the interconnected nature of human existence. 
 
Rudy Francisco seeks to create work that promotes healthy dialogue, discourse and social change.  Furthermore, Rudy has made conscious efforts to cultivate young poets and expose the youth to the genre of Spoken Word Poetry via coaching, workshops and performances at preparatory schools and community centers. Rudy has also received admiration from institutions of higher education. He has conducted guest lectures and performances at countless colleges and universities across the nation. 
 
Rudy Francisco has shared stages with prominent artists such as Gladys Knight, Jordin Sparks, Musiq Soul Child, and Jill Scott. He is also the co-host of the largest poetry venue in San Diego, competes in domestic and international poetry slam competitions and had the honor of being nominated for an NAACP Image Award. Ultimately, Rudy's goal is to continue to assist others in harnessing their creativity while cultivating his own. Rudy Francisco is the 2009 National Underground Poetry Slam Champion, 2010 Individual World Poetry Slam Champion and appeared on TV One’s “Verses and Flow”
