Green trax vol. 2 is the second collection on трип of classic material from steve o’sullivan’s green label, originally recorded between 1996 and 2005. These tracks capture steve’s unique approach to minimal techno, heavily influenced by the innovative sounds of robert hood, jeff mills, and terrence dixon. Recorded live in one take directly from the machines, this collection embodies raw, unpolished energy – a tribute to the spontaneity of studio experimentation. several of the tracks included were previously released on green and recontextualised for трип.

Airtime Records drops another heavy release with the Sleazy Bastard EP by Serbian talent Bosko Balos. Packed with three standout originals and a remix from none other than Marko Nastic, this ones brimming with raw grooves and late-night energy-crafted for those who like their house a little dirty and unpredictable. The A-side kicks off with the title track, Sleazy Bastard. Its a chunky, low-slung roller drenched in attitude, combining gritty basslines, cheeky vocal stabs, and a groove thats as sleazy as it is irresistible. This is the kind of track that commands the floor, oozing with character and ready to stir up any basement rave or backroom session. Next up is Green Yellow Sun, a playful, sun-kissed jam that mixes trippy synth flourishes with warm, driving percussion. Balos keeps it slick and soulful, delivering a track that feels just as good during sunrise moments as it does in a packed-out club. Over to the B-side, and its time to turn up the heat with 2 Hot. True to its name, this ones all fire-sharp, sizzling hi-hats ride over a hypnotic bassline, while quirky hooks and relentless energy make it an instant weapon for peak-time action. Its bold, upfront, and absolutely infectious. Rounding off the release is Marko Nastićs Raw Mix of Green Yellow Sun, where the Serbian maestro strips it back to its core, adding his signature raw, rolling touch. With a driving low-end and laser-sharp percussion, Nastićs remix is a masterclass in minimal groove, taking the original into darker, deeper territory.

COOKED11 | Yan Cook - Equinox EP

The highlight of my 2019 was the surprise closing set of Ozora Festival (wasn't surprise for me, obviously). Playing the last set on a Festival of this scale, after so many people have been dancing and bonding for a week, is very special responsibility. It's like guiding a release from a week of alternative reality, a final cleanse / meditation and a slowdown from the full on into the more mellow, which is a bit melancholic because it is the end, but it's also a hopeful and special moment for taking what we've acquired from that amazing week to our daily life and implementing that feel of unity and goodness that we have experienced with the real world, that needs this energy. Enjoy!
