Music Therapy

The Alarippu  is traditionally the first dance piece that Bharatanatyam dancers learn and perform. Usually it is performed with traditional Indian Music. But I have just tried to  merge Für Elise  one of  Beethoven's most popular compositions with the Alarippu. I have taken liberty to match the composition according to the Alarippu format.

STILL ALIVE is a stop-motion short film. Stop-motion is an animation technique to make a physically manipulated object appear to move on its own. The object is moved in small increments between individually photographed frames. This technique is been derived from the concept of animation which has been in use since ancient times.
Shot within 8 days by using an ordinary tripod, this short film depicts "footwear" as the characters. The main lead male character of this film is personified in a men's sport-shoe which tries to woo a fancy women's footwear, and other characters are also described in a similar fashion. The cycle of love story between this male and female footwear forms the basic outline of this short film. The personality and the emotional aspects of the character is been conveyed through the walk-cycle, posing and other animations of the footwear.
