I had the honor of releasing perhaps the first Atari 2600 tune that is actually in tune - thanks to Aleksi Eeben and his new Star Bars music editor.

Star Bars is an 2 channel Atari 2600 music sequencer and player that runs on Commodore 64. It allows you to export your music as an executable ROM file that runs on an Atari 2600 emulator or on the actual console. 

This tune was recorded on VICE C64 emulator and in PAL mode of the player. This is how I heard it while making it, but it will sound a bit different on a real Atari 2600. I have no way of recording it and the emulators (like Stella) have problems with the sound emulation. Judging from various emulations, the NTSC version sounds better than the PAL version on the Atari 2600 (and vice versa on the C64).

This track is based on "Polvoron", a crumbly milk powder candy pressed in with little bits of crunchy rice.

I did this for a close friend of mine. He had a game idea where it's a lava couch themed 8-bit 2D platformer. Never lifted off sadly but I found the old theme song I made for it. Enjoy!
