Northern Californian composer/pianist Telemakus new LP ‘The New Heritage’ has finally arrived. This incredible body of work showcases Telemakus genius as a completely self taught instrumentalist and bandleader, showcasing highly creative composition and arrangement and resulting in an inspired record tackling themes of exploration, wonder, and innocence. This album’s foundation lies at the intersection of jazz and hip hop, playing into the heritage of jazz-sampling artists who turned their hands to instruments and discovered new musical dimensions and complexities. Featuring producers and musicians from 11 different countries, Telemakus sought out to create the most seamless body of work possible with a focus on maintaining a live sound, working tirelessly from his own bedroom over the past year and a half writing melodies, arranging instrumentation and communicating with his friends and collaborators, including CARRTOONS, Corydrums, Chino Corvalán, Javier Santiago, Thomas Pridgen and more.
