A wonderful song with a heartwarming hook. Jimi Tenor and Tomasz Guiddo at their best. With three delightful feel-good remixes by the shining light, Erobique, Freestyle Man and Ale Castro.
Erobique, who recently had chart hits in middle Europe and was a member of International Pony with DJ Koze back in the days. He also wrote fantastic musical scores for the "Tatortreiniger" TV series (with Bjarne Mädel) and celebrated sold-out live shows all over Germany and Austria. Freestyle Man, perhaps better known as Sasse from Moodmusic, is recognized for delivering many excellent deep house gems. Ale Castro from Argentina also contributes to the top-notch remixes with a DJ-friendly house version.
Last but not least, the legendary Austrian crooner Louie Austen works his magic with his voice on "Smile," conjuring a smile on our faces.

"Where The Wild Roam" EP unveils a sublime synergy between Tomasz Guiddo and Jimi Tenor, poised to enchant listeners through a 12" vinyl release on Compost Records. 

Tomasz Guiddo, a regular on Compost Records, is celebrated for his diverse musical expressions across labels such as Beats In Space, Luv Shack, Get Physical, KID, and even Ostgut Ton (Manhooker), covering genres from jazz to deep house and disco, and Jimi Tenor, the revered Finnish maestro, a genius composer described as a mixture of Gil Evans, Jimi Hendrix, and Fela Kuti, seamlessly melds their talents, crafting a sonic experience that transcends traditional genres.

A notable highlight of this EP is the contribution of the legendary Austrian crooner Louie Austen on the second track "Smile", adding a touch of elegance to the collaboration. The allure of this musical tapestry is further heightened by three exquisite remixes by Erobique, Freestyle Man, and Ale Castro.

At the core of this EP lies a narrative inspired by profound beliefs in love, freedom and happiness, coupled with the mystique of witnessing the northern lights. Beyond The Struttosphere is a new collaboration between Leo Strutt (Strutt Bros DJs) and Ben Chetwood (Flying Mojito Bros, Damian Lazarus’s Ancient Moons) aimed at channelling their considerable musical production experience and boundless love of cosmic dark disco. Their first track, New Frontier (Directors Cut), was self-released late in 2019 and is a slow-burning chug through the cosmos, littered with spacey vintage synth motifs and crunchy power chords. It found much acclaim among Andrew Weatherall and Sean Johnson’s A Love From Outer Space online fraternity, and was featured in The Juan Mclean’s (DFA Records) recent contribution to Tim Sweeney’s Beats In Space mix series. The original is given a makeover by K-Effect, a stalwart of the dark disco scene. His take meanders down a progressive cosmic wormhole with driving basslines and trippy synth riffs that drive the tune to its spaced-out finale.

The boys are back with a new offering on Gouranga Music, Rolling Thunder, a faster, more forthright dancefloor-orientated affair that means business. Complete with gnarly arpeggiator riffs, swirling psychedelic delay lines, a trippy vocal sample borrowed from Platoon, and their now trademark driven guitar power chords. The title track has been given the remix treatment by two aficionados of the scene, firstly the Mexican dark disco wizard Mufti turns up the heat, beefs up the bass, and dials the chug up to 11 to deliver a solid dancefloor destroyer. Cosmic disco legend James Rod delivers a second remix that strips the track right back to its core elements resulting in a minimal slow burner filled with dirty analogue electronics that builds up like a pressure cooker as the track progresses towards its conclusion. The EP finishes with a third remix by the in-house label crew, Gouranga Clan, which reimagines the track as a driving interstellar trip that is sure to spin out a few right-minded partygoers!

DJ Recognize (Jeff Poyzner) [Fast Forward, Red Monkey] got back into mixing tracks in 2017 after a long hiatus since his raver days. Since then, he has organized a ton of events in San Francisco nightclubs and outdoor areas, spun with many crews, and has been known to play a variety of genres including various genres of House, Indie Dance, and DnB. In 2024, he has begun to produce tracks again with a dedication to creating great dance music for all to hear!
