The song has a remarkable age (is near 45), and I changed it several times. This is the today version, recorded (guitar and vocals) with a RØDE NT-USB+; you can hear dogs barking in the distance (but I don't think they were protesting at me). The outro is from an earlier version.

La casa dei versi (House of Verses) **

I hope you all like this one, it's been brewing since 2020. Written as one of a pair with "To Confess - Vocal" which are both emotional story songs. I haven't sang in decades, so these tracks represent a renewal and a new direction. They've inspired me to craft a new vocal rock anthem based on the track "Aviva" and that one's coming down the pipeline soon.

Some unusual production techniques were used here. The vocal is reinforced with synthetic backup formants and harmonics, and the only "effect" used on the real vocals was doubling produced by performing multiple takes. No Melodyne, autotune, or saturation effects were used.

MANIC INSANITY

For this song I used the desperately beautiful old melody from a song called Barbara Allen.  I first became aware of the song from the  Alistair Sim (for me, the best) version of A Christmas Carol: Scrooge. 

For the lyrics I broadly took inspiration from the romantic sub-plot of the same film and wrote from Scrooge's perspective... one of roads not taken and love lost.
