Large track meant to convey a struggle like those found in Wagner and Beethoven pieces. A backbone of double bass, brass, thundering drums, and piano carry lighter instruments through a narrative journey. Cinematic, fine for a montage. [Ver. 75 Roth]

An argument in three acts rises as growling and ooodling electric guitar voices. It's ok, they resolve the fight and make up by the end. Narrative, built around some fine melody bits and lush deep brass. [Ver. 86 Tilt]

An environment of crickets at summer's end serves as background to the solemn and introspective guitar and bass. Pulls on the heart strings. Transcendent ending segment.  The only actual organic instruments used were crickets and a screendoor.[Ver. 19]

One of three versions of 'Joy'.  Staccato plucked double bass make the backbone of these songs. Add acoustic guitar, claves and swirling synth. [Ver.  36 BassCoat 02]

Joy - Bass Coat

Guitar and Mellotron create a groovy and somewhat psychedelic texture with punctuations of brass. More uplifting than down, tense chord progressions challenge and relieve. Skip to 3:48 for the contrapuntal epilogue. [Ver. 31]

One of three versions of 'Joy'.  Staccato plucked double bass make the backbone of these songs. This version adds a synthesized voice slash saxaphone instrument and she sounds lovely. Kinda reminds of the Fifth Element. [Ver. 35 - Saxalist 11]

A thundering assemblage of drum rhythms with Bass and Sickly Grungey Brass. Cinematic, Dramatic, over the top. [Ver.23 Tilt]

Big sounding uplifting instrumental composition. Leans classical with new age and pop roots. Double Bass, Piano, Flute and Drums. Remaster was to tweak the airs with Roth-Air. [Ver. 25b Roth]

Shaded

Genre-less track with roots in rock, pop, folk and world music. Big soundscape with thundering drums and deep resonant piano. More narrative than structured. [Ver.  43]

Forgiveness Act Three

Atmospheric, mystical and meditative. The plucking of strings. The rubber warbling of electronic bass. A stained canvas on which rushing winds and brushing paint are pushed by the sound of a distant drum echo. [Ver. 19]

A journey of controlled chaos from back in 2017. The untamed character of this track made mixing and mastering challenging. Jangly Tar, Piano, Fretless Bass, Flutes, Marimba and Orchestral Percussion with spices. [ver. 93]

Solar

In a word; Dynamic. A difficult production because of the rapid changes to level and pitch. Uses just one synth instrument (Thank you Vital Synth-Matt Tytel, thank you Mr. Bill) with sampled Rototoms and Drums. Let it lift you. Let it move you. [Ver. 32 -Master]

Forgiveness Act Two

A rich complex of electronic textures woven around a central core of fretless bass. An active and invigorating rhythmic journey. This version is from the 16bit sources, I'll be remixing this with 32bit sources in the coming months. [Ver. 48b_BAKED_05]

Drikkaline

The vocal version. Haven't really sang on a track for about 30 years, so it was fun to play with a couple of mid tempo ballads. It was also lotsa fun to produce something with voice again. No tricks were used other than doubling, no saturation tricks, no Melodyne, just a bit of parallel processing. [Ver. Vocal 36]

Listening to some Robyn tracks inspired this song. I wanted a hard synth pop vibe with a little bit of hell raising. Take a deep breath because this piece doesn't breathe at all. It's an audio onslaught from start to finish. 

...If you like ghosts... At the end of the track is what sounds clearly like a voice speaking, yet there were no mics, organic instruments or analog input of any sort. The voice emerged out of the conflux of late mastering decisions using compression and harmonic enhancers, but didn't appear until the final export. Truly strange!

Dynamic and narrative instrumental built around a simple piano hook and counterpoint. It's one of a few pieces that spun out of "Pianolo" a free form piano song. Piano, Brass, Electric Guitar, swirling Airy Synth bits and Thunderous smashing drums.

Can a vintage computer voice program be used to "sing" a song? I don't know, but I set my mind to finding out, and this track is the result. 

Normally I avoid overwhelming listener's subwoofers with [EXCESSIVE SUBS], but for this track to "work" properly it just has to be. Why? Because I want your face to vibrate when you listen on speakers, and your brain to vibrate on headphones! So, if you want to play it in a club or on a  system with massive low-end, you might need to use a low-shelf or high pass filter.

If you listen hard, and have a bit of synesthesia, the ending fadeout tastes like metal.

This one was started in 2016, and back-burnered 'til now. Strong synth groove and unexpected trappy percussion give it a tangible sense of drive and movement. Not related to the artist/singer AViVA in any way.

WARNING: CONTAINS EARWORMS.  This track refused to stay quiet on it's hard-drive. It's infectious and oddly timed melodic layers continually looped in my head for weeks. Calliope like synths create a web that captures the flying guitar riffs, then drained by the spidery rhythm for your pleasure or torment.

Lulling

I hope you all like this one, it's been brewing since 2020. Written as one of a pair with "To Confess - Vocal" which are both emotional story songs. I haven't sang in decades, so these tracks represent a renewal and a new direction. They've inspired me to craft a new vocal rock anthem based on the track "Aviva" and that one's coming down the pipeline soon.

Some unusual production techniques were used here. The vocal is reinforced with synthetic backup formants and harmonics, and the only "effect" used on the real vocals was doubling produced by performing multiple takes. No Melodyne, autotune, or saturation effects were used.

Pop anthem offering a message of power and hope in the face of oppression through an inclusive and pluralist perspective of the world. This track was really special to me and I hope some of you will hear what I hear in it, or feel what I felt.
