Regent is an ever-growing voice in the global techno conversation. His tracks have found their way into high-profile sets worldwide and are renowned for their impressive blend of the past and the present. Versatile but always designed for maximum impact, delivering an impressively crafted sound made for powerful systems, this new outing offers a wealth of different moods and grooves for various parts of the night. Returning to SHDW’s Mutual Rytm imprint following 2023’s successful ‘Coral Knife’ EP, he unveils a fresh selection of cuts that emphasise his emergence with ‘Delta Hyve’.

The title cut ‘Delta Hyve’ opens up with devastating low ends and busy synths that scurry about the mix to bring dynamism to the rooted drums, while ‘Ophaal’ delivers thumping kicks and coarse, textured hits scrape and scratch, while supersized hi-hats bring the intensity to all new levels. ‘Hygea Core’ brings the pressure with hunched-over drum patterns and a sense of urgency in the bass, while creepy pads create an unsettling atmosphere. ‘New Narrative’ powers on like a train with high-speed rhythms and metallic percussive surfaces, all sweeping you off your feet, before ‘Ree 54’ switches things up with bright synth flashes and more extraverted grooves that hark back to the machine soul of early Detroit techno.

The first digital bonus, ‘Presence’, is intense and tinged with the grit of a warehouse and menacing vocals, while ‘Rheplica’ delivers unrelenting loopy drum funk with shattered glass melodies to close the show.

The foundations for Clergy were first built in Manchester in the spring of 2015 with the release of Cleric’s ‘Codes Of Chaos’ EP. It marked the dawn of a new day for the UK techno doyen - whose stock as a DJ and producer was already soaring, but whose inimitable prowess for A&R was still yet to be recognised. Ten years, 40 releases and countless performances across the globe later, Cleric’s stock in the industry is now priceless.

Ten VA’s are already in motion, to celebrate the 10 Years Of Clergy this year, and the second instalment titled ‘Beta’ has another 5 original tracks, closing off with a remix from Cleric, for a track from the labels extensive catalogue over the years.

“I like to give unknown artists a chance to rub shoulders with big names on our releases, not pre-judging their music based on the size of their profile. I scouted Stef and gave him his first release, and then followed to give advice over career choices. Something I’m proud to do with a lot of artists I work with” - Cleric

Berlin’s Monnom Black is back again with the King of The Sewers EP; four cuts of pulsating techno from two of electronic music’s most uncompromising young figures, DAX J & UVB. Already well-known for its more fundamentally rugged take on modern electronics, the label’s 19th release is another intense transmission deep from the underworld.

The menacing tone of the EP hides the friendship that’s developed between these adopted Berliners, two young men who met in the city and discovered a shared passion for raw analogue audio and electronic sounds that marry starkness with depth. Although they began DJing at the same warehouses since 2014, the duo have waited until the right moment to bring together their mutual love of unique mechanised noisescapes and the high-end production values they’ve developed over years of experience and experimentation. The King of The Sewers is that record, a gritty soundtrack inspired by forgotten lives beneath eastern-bloc cities.

For Monnom Black this latest release continues a run of unmistakable techno records that challenge the mainstream with a non-conformist philosophy. The label’s ethos is to push boundary-testing music by artists who are unafraid to explore a chaotic, divided world in the belief that distinctive music can still create moments of grace and community. This is music for the deepest, darkest parts of the night, breaking beyond the dancefloor and into the liminal spaces where analogue and digital, body and mind meet. The King of The Sewers EP represents another step forward in the development of a record label pressing at the borders of what contemporary techno can be.

Legion IX embodies the synergy of new-age and original Techno by forming it 
into a multifaceted construct.

The Various Artist EP of Legion IX is the first impression of this project, which 
ascends out of the depths of Berlin’s underground scene. This Legion of modern 
age unites various participants, who are forearmed to incorporate their musical 
talent into the sonic vision of Legion IX.

The tri-national compilation represents 13 different perspectives of energetic 
techno and merges those into one unity.

The first composition on Legion IX’s Various Artist EP is a creation called ‘Fuck 
the System’ by @troperecordings. The underground techno legend created a 
track with old school nuances by combining rhythmic rims and deep snares while clashing crashes add extra energy to it. The contribution of Legion IX resident @s-w-h-r called ‘Red Snow’ resembles a drama, which acquires its dark atmosphere through deep and distorted synth-pads and induces an emotional tension. For their creation ‘Morgul’ the next Legion IX resident @vinya_official joined forces with @rezystor to combine voluminous kicks and ringing cymbals for evoking a raucous and dark energy, which is underlined by sinister vocals. ‘Judgement’ by the Lyon based DJ @oposition illustrates his artistic finesse through early variations of rhythm and it elicits a slamming warehouse vibe.

The swiss talent @unconformist produces powerful and shifting dynamics through the mechanic and rattling elements in his track ‘Uprising Terror’. In @basswell-2 ‘Silver’ the dark pads accompanied by light rides and passive claps cause an unique tension. The french producer @mac-declos contributes the track ‘John Hoovy’, which convinces with tribal hinted beats and a drone break sound caused by sharp hats and siren-like cuts. Through unrelenting polyrhythms @draugr8 creates a heavy drum tool in his composition ‘Störtebeker’. The duo @soundofsuicide consisting of the artists SWHR and @lndoo represents its raucous versatility through their work. Therefor used digital voice cuts function as a battle cry for the ´Satanic Soldiers´.

The expressive interpretation of the Parisian duo @mothtechno acquires its deep sound through the pervasive synths and the accentuating acid parts, which make it hard to ‘Don’t forget to go Home’. ‘Overdrive your Speakerz’ by @yanis-bellalem is defined by playful pings and stabbing synths. Due to its straightforward drum set the track results into a pure and uncompromising rave statement. One of this year’s most uprising producers @ulutechno finds ´The lost Happiness´ due to drum-roll cuts and gated pads throughout the upbuilding, which turns out to an epic twist in the second half. The last legionnaire standing is the Berlin DJ @tilman-riddelt, who contributes ‘Arak’ as the final anthem to the Various Artists EP, which contains playful trance parts.
