These tracks draw inspiration from the night's Headliner, Derrick Carter. His eclectic, soulful house sets seamlessly blend different elements of Chicago house, disco, funk, and tech-house. I tried to stack my folder with tracks that bounced between deep house, classic Chicago vibes, funky grooves, with some unexpected curveballs to keep the energy dynamic and unpredictable - ensuring the journey remained fresh and engaging from start to finish.

Portland DJ Krista Basis (Liquid Grooves PDX) infuses her distinctive energy into sets that traverse the realms of house, disco, breaks, tech, and deep house. Her innate connection with music propels her role as a discerning music selector, creating an immersive experience for the dance floor.

In recent years, Krista has solidified her presence in the vibrant Portland house scene, captivating audiences at clubs throughout the city and festivals along the West Coast. Her impressive roster of performances includes opening sets for acclaimed DJs such as DJ Heather, Doc Martin, Miguel Migs, Steve Bug, Mz Worthy, Mark Farina, Cassy, Doc Martin, Justin Martin, and Derrick Carter, showcasing her versatility and skill on a national level.

Whether she's orchestrating beats from behind the decks or joining the crowd on the dance floor, Krista Basis embodies a contagious enthusiasm that enhances the overall musical journey for her audience.

Our journey today finds us in Barcelona, and the home of an ex-pat Englishman who has a major influence on the electronic music scene. Renowned DJ, Producer, Label boss and event promoter, our guest today has done it all. Please make some noise for Paul Loraine! 

Getting a wide perspective in electronic music is uncommon and often musicians tend to narrow their taste in order to find their sound, but sometimes having a vision beyond that might be the clue to create something memorable and refine what to produce, play or promote. 

By getting closer to Paul Loraine’s trajectory, one can easily understand how the art of being a DJ, producer and a label manager flows into the same pushing direction. From the age of 19 and for 6 years, he had a residency at the infamous Golden Monkey Club that gave him a superb start and the ability to switch and understand all kind of musical genres. 

Lately, his music productions have had a huge impact on the electronic music scene and because of this brought him to DJ at many clubs and festivals worldwide. On top of that comes Rhythm Cult, his own musical project launched in 2014 that has been able to bring together artists, from the likes of Deadbeat, Portable, Dinky and Barem, amongst many others. 

Rhythm Cult has also become Loraine’s alias for releasing new music, such as Brutal, a single released by Sasha on his Last Night On Earth record label. Adding a further string to an already impressive bow, Paul has also added The CultCast DJ mix series to his CV, capturing high end players of the electronic music scene at their best, bringing exclusive set's to his listeners.
