This album is the definitive body of work by the late Bob Taylor of Massepequa, NY. Bob lived an extraordinary life and died on July 9th, 2014. It took him 24 years to finish this album. The final mastering was courtesy of Sound Dwellers (http://sounddwellers.com).

Further Backstory (as told by his studio friends):
On Wednesday, July 9th, 2014, we lost a true hero. Bob Taylor was a man who came to the studio to finish an album he was working on since 1990, on old tapes. During his younger years, he was a music writer in L.A. during the 1970s during a burgeoning Punk rock scene. He had a tough life and recently suffered through cancer. However, it didn't kill his spirit to finish this album. It was the last thing he needed to do before he died and get his closure. He said that getting this album on SoundCloud would make him immortal. Well, this week JJ Jerome and Matthew Einsidler finally completed the final mastering of this album (with the initial help of Chris Randazzo). Bob died before he ever got to hold the final copy in his hands, but he did it - he completed this record. It's a collection of covers he made into his own. A few months ago, T.J. Genzale and Raj Tawney stuck 1 microphone in an empty studio room, for 2 hours, and Bob talked vividly about his life. OKeh short history: 

OKeh was founded by Otto K. E. Heinemann when he set up his own recording studio and gramophone record pressing plant in New York City in September 1918. Heinemann formed the name of the record label "OKeh", from his initials.  OKeh began by issuing popular songs, dance numbers, and vaudeville skits similar to the fare of other labels, but Heineman also wished to experiment with music for audiences neglected by the larger record companies. OKeh produced lines of recordings in German, Czech, Polish, Swedish, and Yiddish for the USA's immigrant communities. In 1920, Ralph Peer's recordings by African-American blues singer Mamie Smith were a surprise smash hit for Okeh. The company perceived the significant, little-tapped market for blues and jazz by African American artists. Louis Armstrong, Duke Ellington and Bix Beiderbecke are only a few names of jazz greats that have recorded for the label. By 1926 Columbia Records bought the label and kept it running into the 60's with jazz and R&B recordings. 

In 1994, Sony Music reactivated the OKeh label as a new-age Blues label. Okeh's first new signings included Keb' Mo, Popa Chubby, and Little Axe. By 2000, the Okeh label was again retired, but in 2013 it will see its re-launch as a jazz label once again.
