Happy new year! Thinking of a fitting description for this first mix of 2025 while laying awake at night, for some reason the vision of a pool table came into mind. The funny thing about pool is that for the longest time it can seem like you're ahead and winning, maybe even after a starting with a perfect break, but all it takes is one fumble of accidentally pocketing the 8 ball and you're out, game over. But the kicker is that that is never the end of things! The table will reset back to default. A new game starts. New opportunities and challenges arise, ready for you to give it another shot, try some new strategies. If you feel like you are stuck, don't be affraid to reset the table. Never settle for a losing game. Rules and conventions are there to be bent and broken. Live a little. Damage the table. Lose the chalk. Shoot the balls into the room. Break the cue. But for fuck's sake don't settle for mediocre and boring. Play with fun people. And while you're at it, make sure to play some good tunes to bring comfort in chaos. XI - January 2025

This year I'm about to discover so many new things and experiences through music, with the first one being this monthly mix series that I will be doing. This first episode was recorded on my roof-terrace in the sparse winter sun during last sunday's afternoon.

Through this series, I want to showcase my favorite new music with tracks from both well-known and lesser-known artists, alongside my own tracks and (unreleased) IDs. 

Looking back at last year it's crazy to think how much has happened and how many new experiences I had with my music, and I'm looking forward to many more unforgettable experiences in the coming year, with a lot of exciting news already coming very soon.

From Hell's Kitchen, New York City, JEK G aka Cadiz (Techno alter ego) has been playing music since 2016 from behind the decks. Although an American and a Swiss citizen, Jek G has ethnic roots from Spain, Dominican Republic and Puerto Rico. With an undeniable passion and love for music, Jek began his journey through music mostly rapping, opening for big name rappers such as Jadakiss and Styles P. Years later he took a deep dive into electronic music and began playing private parties before jumping into the club scene in 2024.
JEK G is well known for his expertise in blending and mixing different genres all while keeping the energy and excitement of the crowd with a deep love and interest for house and techno music ranging from Afro house/Afro Latino house to melodic vibes to hard techno. JEK G is well known for his expertise in dark industrial/minimal techno which is played by his alter ego, "Cadiz."
