Anjei(@poisonpro/ @volen-sentir) was born on 14 December 1984 in Volgodonsk, Russia. From early childhood he had a passion for music, his father having been a DJ for a short time. While Andrew grew up, he felt more and more love for different kinds of music. His first great experience was when he heard the music of the famous UK band - Prodigy. Andrew became a big fan of the group, then later Chemical Brothers, Crystal Method, and others.

We welcome Christina Gavrilova a.k.a Forty Cats, for the sixty-eighth edition of the 'Deep In Mix' series. 

Christina has artfully crafted a musical journey that resonates on an international scale. The subsequent year Forty Cats extended her sonic reach globally with spellbinding performances in Sri Lanka, India, Thailand, and Armenia. The year 2023 marked her debut tour in Argentina, amplifying her presence on the international stage. As of today, Christina continues to enrapture her audience with a steady stream of releases, compelling EPs, and mesmerizing remixes, all while creating an enduring legacy in the ever-evolving world of electronic music. Back in 2004, the fusion of the sounds of soft and mystical house rhythms as well as harmonic parts inspired by trance music gave rise to the first ideas of a project that would only start to appear more actively on the edm scene a little later, a project called Jelly For The Babies.
What adorns the producer behind the above-mentioned project is the variety in his creations, playing with synths and rhythms, experimentation that eventually led to his sound being easily recognizable.
Just like his spirit, his music is not bound by genre, but is "free", and you can see the releases signed both for progressive and techno, as well as for publishing houses that cultivate the sound of deep, minimal and organic house music. .
Therefore, the very thing that makes him original leads to his music, throughout his career, being supported, both through sets and through the charts, by artists such as Hernan Cattaneo, Eelke Kleijn, John Digweed, Way Out West, Guy J and many others.
Then come the first international guest appearances, tours, festivals and club parties in Lithuania, Portugal, France, Germany, Switzerland, South Africa, Holland, Italy as well as countries in the region.
Graduated Audio & Video engineer as well as the owner of three publishing houses, The Purr, One Of A Kind and RYNTH, where he mentioned discovering new talents, giving young producers a chance, promoting them in the best possible way and mutual cooperation with more experienced colleagues as the key thing .

If I had to define my existence, it would not be written in a book, but played through notes in life over the years.

My annual "This Was" series features my favorite tracks of the year from my own labels (Sound Avenue, 3rd Avenue, Future Avenue & Crossfade Sounds). 2023 was an amazing year filled with tons of great music. For this 3.5-hour mix, I had a "shortlist" of 130 tracks, and 36 made it to the final tracklist. As always, the mix starts with some (dub)techno tracks from the Crossfade Sounds label and builds up from there, exploring the deeper side of progressive house.
