DJ mix from Baaz from 2012. I downloaded the file in 2012 after Teshcast posted it for download, and it has been one of my favorite mixes over the years. It seems to have completely disappeared from the Internet, so I am resharing it here.

This edition of our mix series features luminary Seattle local and longtime friend of the crew Shaun Whitcher (https://soundcloud.com/shaunwhitcher). We've wanted a mix from this skilled master of the late night vibes for some time and he delivers with this well crafted psychedelic mix that is a perfect fit for the wee hours after raving. Shaun has been a longtime fan of Wicked (like us at Innerflight) and we are happy to have him play along with a legend and ace of the craft, Jenö. Joining them on the decks will be Lucky Cheese and Kadeejah Streets. The shindig goes down at one of our favorite Seattle underground venues on Friday Jan 26th.

Had the pleasure of getting acquainted with Jackson while out supporting mutual dj friends. Conversation was engaging, largely centered around music and our love for it! 💚💚💚💚

I have attended several free and/or ticketed events @peerpressure.sea facilitates. Their dedication and safety planning to keeping their staff, volunteers, performers, dancers and attendees safe during their events should be the standard in the industry - period. I attended a mandatory Sexualized Harassment Training held by PP organizers prior to playing their event. Providing their community members with factual information, harm reduction tactics, giving tools and highlighting resources is so important and crucial. Peer Pressure likes to have fun, present fun themed parties but what is clear to me - they actually care about you and the wellness of everyone gathering together. 

Jackson (he/him), aka Dirty J, originated from an abandoned lighthouse off the rocky coast of Maine, and has traveled far and wide to make it to the PNW. Growing up, Dirty J was heavily influenced by rock ‘n’ roll and lyrically-imbued hip-hop, but more recently has found a passion for house music and EDM culture. Learning how to produce in 2020, Dirty J transitioned into DJing after moving to Seattle in 2021 and linking up with @orionent. He has since been actively DJing in the private event space and Seattle’s nightlife scene.

This month’s Carhartt WIP Radio show features the New York-based producer, singer-songwriter, and multi-instrumentalist @keiyaa. 

Born and raised on Chicago’s South Side, keiyaA grew up singing in the Chicago Children's Choir, before studying the alto saxophone. Today, she combines her jazz training with stirring vocals and neo-soul sensibilities to create richly textured, yet introspective music. Her sound touches r&b, hip hop, and jazz, while also venturing into IDM, ambient, and experimental realms. 

For this episode of Carhartt WIP Radio, keiyaA has created a mix that features unreleased music, remixes and collaborative works, creating a deep, spiritual flow of experimental grooves, bouncy bass lines, and fourth-world rhythms, all combined with her signature mix of song, rap, spoken word.

Augustina Moore (b. 1999 Vashon Island) is a trans songwriter & musician, DJ, & sound designer living and working in Seattle, Washington. As a selector and producer, August’s offerings blur reconstructed clubland frenetics into the hyper-familiarity of dancefloor heritage groove.

For this episode, she brings us a mix titled “Dawn of a New Day”. In her own words:

For this mix I wanted to embody and explore the concept of the “day-night cycle”, and the way video game music helps define and set atmosphere in relation to time of day. The mix is split into three distinct sections (morning, day, and night) and follows a loose imagined narrative of a day in the life of a game character! I like to use music in a very functional way to soundtrack my day and activities (I have specific music / playlists for things like studying, cooking, going for a walk, taking a shower), and was imagining this character / the listener doing the same with this mix: brushing their teeth and making breakfast to the first section, running errands and taking the train to the second, and winding down while reading a book to the final section. I pulled VGM from some of my all-time favorite games & composers, games that I've been meaning to play forever, and also some weird obscure OSTs my friends have put me onto (shoutout Cori, Mason & Natasha !!!).
