This song speaks to many other relationships where once broken up, the spouses will deeply miss their in-laws, their extended family. It is not so in all break ups but even so, one hates loses their friends or feeling awkward while everything eventually becomes normal but in some cases, even the normal is not the same as before.

This song is about a couple that wants to mend and put aside their petty differences where one character feels neglected and the other character has one foot in the door and one foot out. This character feels he or she is being manipulated into being someone else other than him/ her and he/she fights back the urge of calling it quits.
