… Two years after last gathering in Vila Flora, spaces finally came to alignment and 10th edition of our beloved delicacy happened as an outdoor event …

Strengthened by new crew members, driven by love for music and art, supported by wide fellowship of seasoned trancers, this event certainly exceeded not only my expectations :)

I was very happy, that I could check by for one evening and drop a special anniversary set, which revisits some old soundscapes as well as offers some new perspectives. 🪸

I invite you to revisit that beautiful evening again and first dive in to some slower and deeper bass beats, which later evolve into midtempo dancing party (which is basically what I do on every psychedelicious 😁)

For nearly a decade, Tycho has been known as the musical alias of Scott Hansen, but with the release of Awake – his second LP for Ghostly International – the solo project has evolved into a three-piece band. Relating closer to post-rock than ambient soundscapes, the record is situated in the present, sounding more like Hansen than drawing from his influences. “This is, in many ways, the first true Tycho record.”

Following 2011’s Dive LP, the San Francisco-based designer toured extensively, and with a full band on stage, his sound coalesced into a percussive, organic whole. Zac Brown (guitars, bass) rejoined Scott on the road for this tour, but it was the particular addition of Rory O’Connor’s live drumming that ultimately sent Hansen back to the studio with a more precise vision. “After the tour, I decided that I wanted to capture the more energetic, driven sound of the live show on the next album,” Hansen recalls. Bringing musicians into Tycho’s creative process was a step towards expanding his own songwriting and advancing the project beyond its current sound.

In a cabin near Tahoe last winter, Zac and Scott began fleshing out the structure of the new record, but it wasn’t until they set up shop in the hills of Santa Cruz with Rory that it all fell into place. “It crystallized the vision of how the drums would come to the forefront on this record,” says Hansen. The sound was much more stripped-down and concise with more organic instruments in the fold. Songs like “Montana” and “Awake” are a departure from Tycho’s previous material – unique to the group effort poured into the songs on the new record – while “See” and “Dye” echo ideas from previous works, bridging a middle ground between the old and new. Working with Count Eldridge, who also engineered Dive, the team could fixate on the pulses that Tycho might previously layer under synthesizers and exhume them with distinct bass and guitar patterns.

Also known for his design work as ISO50, Hansen’s visual and sonic efforts have dovetailed throughout the course of his career. “This is the first time in my life I've dropped everything to focus on one artistic pursuit,” notes Hansen. Previous Tycho releases came to fruition when an amalgam of songs were nearing completion, but Awake is where music becomes the focus and true expression becomes the result.

Believe Lab is back with SAMADHI’s new mix, containing tracks from his new EP, Alien Radio.

Samadhi is a pioneering psytrance artist from St. Petersburg Russia one of the founders of famous Russian promo group Shanti Sound System and first radio show dedicated to psychedelic music in city called Shambala. He started djing since 1996 and producing his own music since the begging of new millennium.
His first releases were on legendary Russian labels De Ja Vu records and Vertigo records in 2004 – 2005. Then Ilya moved to live in Goa India after JAPAN tour for last few years and made a lot of gigs across Asia as well as many gigs around Europe in countries like Germany, Italy, Poland, Finland, Austria, Slovakia, Turkey, Estonia ,France , including big festivals like VooV 2009, Existance 2012 , SONICA in Italy , ODESSEY in Germany . Samadhi have released his split album with Fungus Funk on Blitz Studios and many tracks on compilations on important world labels like DISCOVALLEY REC, ACID DANCE REC, BOM SHANKAR REC, PURPLE HEXAGON RECORDS and many many more. Samadhi is also running a full power morning psytrance project thoghether with his goan friend Dj Nirmal called Trippy Trail. Connected with music since childhood, when, being 4 years old, he organized his own cassettes collections, ranging from oldschool berlin electronic music, ambient and psychedelic rock to classical music. Allthough he studied piano and sound engineering, his approach to music was for a long time mostly receptive and collecting. He discovered psytrance and it's branches in year 2002 and after occasional visit of smaller parties, he was carried away by OZORA 2010 festival, where he heartily engorged psychedelic culture and it's atmospheres. Then in 2013 he co-founded production/deco crew WizArts, in 2014 and in 2017 became part of Fenix Festival production team.
