From the darkest depths of Somerset, on Merv's home turf, a DJ set from the Heaven Stage, nestled in the wacky Shangri La area of the legendary Glastonbury Festival..The weekend was hosted by the king of chillout spaces, Mr Mixmaster Morris himself and we finally have here, some real evidence proving that Merv actually DID play an Ambient set once, in the Chillout Arena! When asked was he behaving and following the rules just because Prince Harry happened to be hanging out there that day, he replied gruffly ''who the fuck is Prince Harry? Never heard of him...''

In this episode, Mystic Sound comes from NAAN's Sola Luna Festival opening set, a mix that was recorded at the opening of Sola Luna festival in Thailand. NaaN is a musician based in Barcelona, a student and lover of many tribal and sacred rhythms from ancient parts of the world. He contributes to the scene with mixes and his own musical creations. Whether playing instrumental music or performing from DJ decks, NaaN travels the world, delivering performances ranging from chillout to psytrance, from self-produced tracks to live band exhibitions.  He blends tribal rhythms and organic tunes with ethnic instruments and cutting-edge synthesizers, creating deep, full basslines. Enjoyment and love for the music define his work—an ancient tribal journey from the future and from the heart.  NaaN is also a hang concert performer, opening and closing dancefloors. In every gig or jam session, he showcases his ability to mix diverse styles and combinations.

I hope it takes you to places that are near and far, strange and familiar."  FAELOW’s work has always been about creating spaces that embody feelings. Faelow’s fascination with spaces started at a young age, with a focus on painting surreal landscapes. The ethereal calmness evoked by environments filled with teal pigments gave way to his moniker, a phonetic spelling of the blue-green pigment phthalo. After turning to audio as his primary means of exploration, Faelow’s work has focused on creating immersive stereo images that paint a world in the listeners imagination, populated by an ecosystem of auditory entities.

This is drone ambient set I played @ Ambient Festival 2015 in Liběchov orchard and replayed it @ Yes Café in Prague (because recording from the festival got damaged). 
Nearly from the beginning the journey goes through various space/ritual/spiritual/desert/swamp/cave/jungle/arctic landscapes made of both electronic and traditional instruments (including singing bowls), with occasional voices, chants from ancient cultures.

Peace, meditation, contemplation, clarity and fascinating atmospheres…

I have been listening to this kind of music for over ten years and it never stops to amaze me...

Connected with music since childhood, when, being 4 years old, he organized his own cassettes collections, ranging from oldschool berlin electronic music, ambient and psychedelic rock to classical music. Allthough he studied piano and sound engineering, his approach to music was for a long time mostly receptive and collecting. He discovered psytrance and it's branches in year 2002 and after occasional visit of smaller parties, he was carried away by OZORA 2010 festival, where he heartily engorged psychedelic culture and it's atmospheres. Then in 2013 he co-founded production/deco crew WizArts, in 2014 and in 2017 became part of Fenix Festival production team.
