This week I wanted to work out a few fragments I had in mind, but after a first recording I felt there is no need to work them out. As a set of six pieces, they are telling the whole story to me. Here is the first one.

The great success of my first series "Valses melancoliques encouraged me to continue this musical idea of melancholic valses, resulting in 12 new valses from C minor to B minor.

Danaë performs these works in a masterful way, bringing interpretive variety to each waltz such that each piece portrays distinct character, and all are a delight to hear!

Something sparkling, celestial with full harmony and bass parts - you wouldn't believe it. It's like a sweeping chorus of heaven, and it's just slowed down, they didn't manipulate the tape at all. So I think when Wilson slows people down, it gives you a chance to watch them moving through space. And there's something to be said for slowing down the world."

I'm a composer, guitarist & music teacher.
I love music of nearly every style and I live music whenever I can.
