Aquarelles: II. Chevreaux

Here we have the best session i have ever done.  These 3 fantastic musicians together in a room, completely improvised, doing things like no other!  This was a collaboration between Bandcrashers, p ten studios, and these amazing musicians.  A live 3 hour internet broadcast direct from p ten studios December 2010.  
This particular piece of music is the last hour of the 3 hour broadcast, with Jordan explaining a riff (again unrehearsed) and the ability to pick it up within seconds is mind blowing!!!
Watching these guys take off and do what they do best was fascinating!!!
I hope that you all enjoy what had been presented, and I think you all will be amazed as was I and the many people that tuned into Bandcrashers to watch the Musical Mind Meld take place.

The Great Adventure by Jean-Gabriel Raynaud

I wrote this piece as an entry into the 2018 composition contest for the group Virtual Orchestration.  It describes in a cinematic style a mythical encounter between a ship’s crew and the Sirens of the Odyssey.  As Wikipedia tells it, the Sirens were dangerous creatures, who lured nearby sailors with their enchanting music and singing voices to shipwreck on the rocky coast of their island.  Unlike Ulysses, who is depicted in the artwork by John William Waterhouse, the unfortunate crew in my score had no prior warning about the Sirens and the magical power of their voices.  

In this piece I imagined that there was a turbulent sea as the adventurers neared the rocks around the craggy cliffs of the Sirens’ island home.  This makes for a conflict between the bewitched desire of the sailors to get closer to the singing and their sea-sense which would have steered away from the shoals.

I don't know why I didn't for the competition, but the rules stated must be all Midi tracks.  So the full one with the voice over and SFX I just cut off for the submission parameters.
However I could have simply muted the voices and sfx and had a longer complete version for the competition:  Shame.
