However, as author of millions of songs and albums, we became tired and also confused about our artistic position. So, we needed a restart, and here we are, Interpret Unbekannt, making music for nothing but with a lot of passion!

Hi, I'm from the Upper Peninsula of Michigan. My music style has largely been molded by the music my family exposed to me when I was young; my great uncle and other relatives play music in the folk and older country style. My music is also heavily influenced by the indie-folk and anti-folk styles of the late 90s and early 2000's.

Some artists who have had a big influence on my songs are Hank Williams, Bob Dylan, Leonard Cohen, Townes Van Zandt, Conor Oberst, Elliot Smith, the Mountain Goats, and more recently, Jeffrey Lewis and Diane Cluck.
