surprise, surprise, nice goa! hearing old school on here.

So, yeah we wrote this for an intense time in our lives. Spaced out and our friends were about to give birth soon after the travel was finished. Her name lent itself to the sources of inspiration. Mayan Space Dolphins, diving into the ocean. Mission.

We made this nearly 15 years ago for our friends who were having a baby. She was to be named Stella Maya Delphine. She was born a few days after the track was complete.

Stella Propela was released as a 12" on the German label BTM Records in 1997, early in the summer. It was made at the Sony Flatline studio in Wuppertal, with Gregor Totz at the mix controls. I was still watching and learning, focusing on the story/arrangement and the individual sounds and melodies.

I remember being a little freaked out because of the hundreds of copies filling the label office, all with my name and logo on them. I had only been part of a compilation or two before.

When I arrived in San Francisco they thought it was a big deal I had a record out, and it sat on the shelf at the record shop in Berkeley when I walked in.

When we heard that we were to play the opening set on Wiese main floor at Nation of Gondwana 2023 (the 29th issue of this mainstay of Open Air culture, btw) we were unsure what to make of it. Surprisingly it worked out quite well. Hugz to our steadfast fanbase still turning up in numbers after 22 years! Legendary resident of the Cocoricò (Riccione, Italy), club that he has launch in the 1990, Cirillo is one of the best representatives of the Italian techno sound. In more than 30 years his career has taken him around the world travelling side by side with the biggest names in terms of techno music. He has participated in some of the most infamous musical events including Love Parade, Ravecity, NRG, Evolution, Mayday, Universe, Love Nation, Union Rave and Odissey. He is also a resident DJ of Circoloco at DC10 and it’s a big pleasure to welcome him on the channel with this fantastic podcast recorded in December 2023 !
