Undoubtedly a leading talent on our imprint for many years now, Shingo has contributed several artist albums and countless singles to Silk in the last seven years, many of which remain fan favorites from our back catalogue. His deep and exceedingly melodic brand of progressive house never fails to evoke a wide range of emotions in the listener, running the gamut from the melancholic tones of his classic remix of Soundprank's "Burner" to the pure euphoria of his most famous work, "Sapporo".

The standout cuts featured in this compilation include early works like "Alice In Wonderland" and "I'm With You", as well as the more recent, Above & Beyond-supported "Words Unspoken." These works also showcase Shingo's most notable signature: poignant, classical piano themes, which endure well beyond repeated listens. Blugazer's "Ethereal Concepts," one of our favorites from this year's "Silk Royal Showcase 04" compilation, finally receives a full single release on our parent label, including powerfully emotive interpretations by Shingo Nakamura and Piramex. Based in NYC, Blugazer has generated strong buzz in the international trance & progressive community over the last few years, on account of his intricate, visionary productions. His original version is centered on a gentle groove, while a variety of relaxing and lush melodies are equally entrancing. The instrumental themes are quite memorable, yet the most breathtaking effects are provided by an unnamed female vocalist, whose ethereal voice offers a deep catharsis to the listener.

Veteran star Shingo Nakamura, fresh off a wonderful collaboration with Jody Wisternoff and James Grant on the recent "Anjunadeep 06" release, offers a deliciously deep take in the spirit of the original version. Soothing pads and a buoyant rhythm provide the listener with a floating-on-air sensation, while Shingo's signature chords offer uplifting melodic vibes. In the main break, Shingo's gorgeous piano lines, which beautifully coalesce with the vocal stabs, are a welcome addition to the soundscape.

Rising Russian talent Piramex, who recently won our "Both" remix contest, provides a peak-hour rendering, fueled by a ferocious bassline. As the song crescendoes toward the climax, vocal effects and pad layers are added, creating an aura of suspense. In the main break, a reworked vocal sequence soars above an anthemic bassline progression, while a variety of side melodies fill out the soundscape. The thunderous drop to follow is awe-inspiring.

From time to time, i´d choose a track i like and tallatize it. Sometimes its a slower progressive tune, other times something completely different. When i heard "Alan Walkers - Faded" i was enchanted by the atmosphere and the vocals. I thought this track should be also danceable for the uplfting crowd and after tallatizing from 90 to 136 bpm it became such a nice rework, that armin van buuren picked it up, played it at asot 755, asot 750 miami, asot 756, asot 757 and called me "the master of reworks" ...awesome, right ;-)

Timmo follows up his debut Drumcode release ‘We Beat On’ with a brand new 4-tracker packed to the rafters with his own unique blend of techno. His productions are getting plays from the likes of Adam Beyer, Joseph Capriati and Richie Hawtin amongst others; 2017 is set to be his biggest year yet. 

Timmo’s unique sound has captured the eyes and ears of many highly revered techno DJs around the world and his ‘System’ release is a stark reminder of exactly why this is. ‘Intensify’ is a big room record that is set to do some real damage on dance floors worldwide. This peak time tool thumps through 7 minutes of power, dragging you in and throwing you out the other side as the track rolls on. 
‘The Maze’ is an example of his excellent production, with his use of synths on a level that some producers take years to hone. ‘System’ is a haunting track, authentic four-to-the-floor techno that screams in to top gear right from the off. The release closes with the more groove and bass line laden ‘Together’. One of those tracks that is guaranteed to get stuck in your head…
