Simon Sim's - African Tribute (Vinyl)

Moscow rolls through with a collaboration from founder Archie Hamilton and musical genius Benson Herbert, from Kerri Chandler’s protege duo, Voyeur. Two original tracks, remixed by the legendary 100hz.

The record opens with the wonderfully trippy Systim. A driving bassline, barely recognisable vocal snippets and groovy organic percussive elements dance around a haunting piano riff that ebbs and flows throughout the track. Tension builds until a second acid bassline is finally revealed, causing dance floor madness

Next up Herbavibe combines a big bassline, dreamy chords, Hamilton’s trademark 303 and a catchy vocal hook to create a certified summer anthem.

100hz uses the entire b side to interpret System into a more classical workout, using the piano elements to their full potential and using minimal hi hats to keep the listener enthralled. An after party gem that completes the package perfectly.

With the release of his next EP, influential Parisian producer D’Julz establishes the launch of new label JV in collaboration with highly esteemed French distributor Yoyaku. 
Yoyaku, which also runs a leading record store in Paris as well as many record labels, has quickly established itself as a major force within the underground dance scene. With that, discerning tastemaker D’Julz is seizing an opportunity to join forces and establish a new sought-after outlet for his own productions and in due course, collaborations with other coveted artists. 
“With Bass Culture Records nearing its tenth anniversary, it’s absolutely the right time to artistically invest in a new project. The music coming from Yoyaku and sub-labels like Hostom, AKU and Yoyakuza, is consistently high-grade stuff. We both share the same ethos of bringing a fresh generation of artists to the forefront, so working together is sure to be totally inspiring.”
His two-tracker EP kicks off with ‘Chaplin Bong’, a euphonic groove-packed house cut that is sheer liquid perfection evolving with a combination of dubby techno stabs penetrating a rolling disco bassline. ’J’y Vais’, which translates to “I go”, is a deep and bass-heavy old school track that’s hewn from Chicago influences. A propulsive, sheen-polished dancefloor gripper. 
Looking forward, JV is set to evolve with D’Julz showcasing his own productions while bringing in masterful talents to collaborate, and with the music policy being very much open, it’s guaranteed to be a consummate source of electronic music.

Ibiza-based French-born DJ and producer Jeremy Weeks came up on old school house and minimal and for the last 20 years has been serving up his distinctive take on groove at clubs around the world. He first built his reputation with punchy cuts

and a solid constant groove that always got crowds in a sweat. A decade ago he made the move to Ibiza and became a promotor for Fuse and Carl Cox while evolving his own sound into what it is today with sets at some of the most iconic venues on the island such as Space Ibiza, Sankeys, Zoo Project, Heart, Privilege, Pikes, Pacha, DC-10 and Amnesia.

When in the booth serving up his selections, Jeremy’s spans from deep US house to soul, from minimal to old school French touch and is an active member of Orinoco Soundsystem and co-founder of SelectorForRavers. He has been turning out his own fresh beats since 2015 on esteemed labels like Vaporized Records, H24 Musique and 07hdumat, Elarum, Brique Rouge, NG Trax, Discotech, Dealer2zik, Picture Perfect Recordings, Draft and more. He is a core part of the underground who never fails to make his mark with the music he plays.
