Nyctimystes infrafrenatus, Litoria rubella, Rhinella marina + Litoria caerulea and Ninox rufa in the background. i haven't ID'd the little squeaky frog.

Superb Lyrebird calling in the early morning, not long after dawn, in the Jamison Valley. This particular area of the Jamison Valley is on the slopes of the Narrow Neck Plateau and is covered in lush, wet sclerophyll forest, which borders a small pocket of rainforest.
Some of the birds the lyrebird mimics in this performance are: Laughing Kookaburra, Satin Bowerbird, Eastern Whipbird, Yellow-tailed Black Cockatoo, Lewin's Honeyeater, Pied Currawong, Crimson Rosella, Pilotbird, Australian King Parrot. Many of the odd sounds it makes are pure Lyrebird calls as they do have their own unique repertoire. 
In the background you can hear many Bell Miners twinkling.

Superb Lyrebird In The Jamison Valley, Blue Mountains

Very short recording of Heleioporus australiacus. This is a very large (100mm) frog which is considered vulnerable by the IUCN. This is the first time that I have ever heard this frog!
This was recorded by a very dry, barely flowing creek on the lushly forested cliffs which looks over the South Pacific ocean in the south-eastern coast Royal National Park, just as the sun had completely set. I placed the recorder above the frogs burrow in the creek but unfortunately I placed it so close that most of the recording is distorted!
Recorded with an Olympus LS-5 as that is all that I had on me at the time.

Recorded at "The Bridge To Botswana" on the 19th of November, 2014 at Mmabolela Reserve, Limpopo, South Africa during the 'Sonic Mmabolela' residency, organized by Francisco Lopez & James Webb.

A few Red-crowned Toadlets calling in a small water filled ditch by the side of the track on a cool Summer's night. Recorded in Royal National Park, in the rainforest near the Hacking River, around 9.30pm on the 29th of January, 2015. You can also hear some Common Eastern Froglets (Crinia signifera) in the middle of the recording.
Red-crowned Toadlets are considered Vulnerable by the IUCN.

Red-crowned Toadlets (Pseudophryne australis)

Common Eastern Froglets (Crinia Signifera) calling in vegetation around a tiny pool of water after recent heavy rain. Recorded in Royal National Park, in the rainforest near the Hacking River, around 9.40pm on the 29th of January, 2015. This is a very common frog in the Sydney area and will live and lay tadpoles in almost any place that there is water, even contaminated sewerage water. I hear these frogs calling at a polluted creek near my house nearly every night so it's nice to hear them calling in the forest in clean water.

Common Eastern Froglet (Crinia Signifera)

As the light fades and the full moon rises.. the nocturnal cricket song begins and fluctuates, Crested Pigeons flutter about in the arid tree's of the Mallee woodland and Pied Butcherbirds sparsely sing their dusk melodies as the wind breezes through leaves and wood.
Recorded on the 4th of May, 2015 in the outback.

By the pond I heard the most intense chorus I've ever experienced, standing within a few metres of the pond my ears would distort due to the raucous frogs! 
While this chorus may be harsh to listen to, I feel that this intensity when listened over a certain period of time may lead to a mesmerizing state of meditation, this idea is influenced in particular by Tony Conrad's piece 'Four Violins' in which the frequencies and almost violently loud amplified violins create a heightened state of listening. 

The pond chorus is dominated by hundreds of Dusky Toadlets (Uperoleia fusca), with the pulsating, rhythmic plonking of Northern Banjo Frogs (Limnodynastes terraereginae) in the foreground along with Eastern Dwarf Tree Frogs (Litoria fallax) and Rocket Frogs (Litoria latopalmata and/or inermis). Also in the chorus are the infamous, exotic Cane Toads (Rhinella marina) which add their ominous, hauntingly beautiful drones to the dense array of bouncing frequencies. Although they may be nice to listen to, in many places in Australia these toads have totally taken over, being the only voice in once diverse chorus's, I pray that this never happens to this lovely pond! 

By the creek, ironically called Dry Creek which it was far from being, there was a gentler but very lively chorus. Dominated by the very common Striped Marsh Frogs (Limnodynastes peronii) whose wonderful plopping songs are always a treat to listen to, as well as many Great Barred Frogs (Mixophyes fasciolatus) and the occasional Graceful Tree Frog (Litoria gracilenta). In the background the deafening pond chorus can be heard as well. 

In the end who or what is calling doesn't really matter, the little scientific, nerdy part of me likes to add this information, but what really matters (to me at least) is the beauty of the resonances and frequencies of these living songs, (which would possibly be even greater to listen to through abstracted ears..) and I hope that they bring you some joy too :)

Suburban Chorus After A Tropical Storm, Wulguru/Townsville.

A lush morning chorus at the edge of the forest/marsh near Durras Lake in Murramarang National Park. Located on the south coast of NSW, Australia.
Bibrons Toadlet's chant loudly yet sparsely at the marshes edge while a mixture of forest/marsh birds sing in the cool humid air. The droning ebb and flow of the waves crashing into the sands of Durras Beach are a constant sonic presence here. A distinctly Australian song.
Recorded in early April, 2015.
My deepest respect to the rightful owners of this land, the Yuin people, past and present, who used to live and roam across this beautiful place.
