life is a journey and music is my soundtrack to it ,i wrote this song traveling around south Portugal at the start of summer 2022 and at the tail end of a 2 year pandemic when travel was no longer possible or an option ..
I hope i have captured some of the energy and sights and sounds of this trip and found signs of life

too many times  it’s all waylaid  and  it goes to pot  
to pot  

Like a wave it comes and sweeps you right up and sees you see it all
But eyes, are a little bit blind and the scene is way too colourfully abstract
Still a bit waylaid, feeling somewhat waylaid,

Any old stroke don’t worry about the form shawn
The wave is talking to us whispering to us all
Like an old friend’s calling for the next big call
we flounder around like elastic plastic fish  
being totally off course way too many times

too many strings can’t see the way up   fuck
 
we alight aboard the sinking ship ‘nice n spicy’ 
but it sure rings more like lice, lice and mousy
by all means though  yeah  call it a bleak street
rather that than being an almighty shit-storm 
but really what’s with the so trendy dark-side
when it’s just another tool to set aside inside
another montage in the so-so blackened garage
then the trap door opens with the latest barrage

it’s been a forever long haul to finally get here
through those wayback times of bullet versus spear
sitting so pretty on the board with no cares of war
laying down at night with no cares of what we saw
it doesn’t take long to forget the face of firepower
and wonder how it got here - how did it get here?
the flash of piercing light through our sufferance
the tall billowing dusty plumes of our vengeance

the power of one man can dictate the spin of earth
