The Horns is the adventurous collaboration of two Melbourne-based artists, multi-instrumentalist Roy Amar and vocalist/lyricist Daniel J.C. What first started out as a playful joke has now grown into so much more. Roy, a metalhead in every sense of the word and member of cult-metal act Jericco, was asked by his indie, music-loving girlfriend to write a song that she would actually like - one that wasn't wall-to-wall full of chunky riffs and heavy distortion. Roy obliged and quickly wrote and recorded something that he thought she would be into.

She not only liked it, she loved it – and so did their friends and a far wider network. Soon enough, Roy was hooked onto the new sound and decided to keep on writing. The songs just kept pouring out, and the more he wrote, the more he fell in love with the music.

After he'd written and recorded over two albums worth of material in under a month, Roy knew it was time to find a singer - a singer to take these tracks exactly where he thought they needed to go. That singer was Daniel J.C - a vocalist who had his feet firmly planted in electronic music and psychedelic rock n roll, but knew just the right mix of innovation and pop sensibilities to bring to the table.

After hitting the studio with acclamed music producer, Tom Larkin (Calling All Cars, Young & Restless) and mixing guru, Sam Sproull (Kimbra, Shihad), The Horns are ready to unleash their collection of songs.

Starting with the infectious ‘Play With Fire’.

The story of Melbourne four piece rock act Jericco has been a long, sometimes painful and often triumphant one. From the release of their debut EP back in 2009 through to their sophomore album release in early 2015, by way of a second EP and debut album, their journey has been all about rising above adversity to produce highly original music of a refined quality with subtle but strong Middle-Eastern flourishes, and a live show that veritably penetrates the soul and exhilarates with its energy.

The four seasoned, hungry and highly respected players in Jericco have honed their individual crafts to an absolute tee, and each contribute their own mastery to an even more impressive whole. Frontman Brent McCormick’s voice soothes, caresses and roars with power, all at once, and he delivers the band’s haunting lyrics and infectious vocal lines with class and distinction. Roy Amar attacks his bass with supreme confidence, his basslines and his work on the Oud (Egyptian Lute) only add power and mysticism to the band’s sound. Aiden Kind slams down his propulsive drum grooves with an enthusiasm that can only be described as contagious and Anthony Connelly’s wall of sound guitars are calming and crushing at the same time.

Together they create a sound of immense and dynamic power that stands out from the heavily populated Australian rock crowd, and a live show that simply must be experienced in the flesh.

Their illustrious career has seen the band touring relentlessly and sharing the stage with such highly respected luminaries as Karnivool, Dead Letter Circus and The Getaway Plan in some of the most prestigious venues across the nation.

Their latest album, the exceedingly well received Machine Made the Animal, debuted on the iTunes Charts at #3 Rock Category and #46 the overall charts respectively plus #12 on the A I R Charts ( Australian Independent Record Labels ). 

The headlining tour for the album saw the band’s biggest attendances achieved yet, with many venues sold out. 

Overseas audiences now await for this very ambitious Aussie rock act.
