Kicking off the debut release of his new Ancient Astronauts imprint, Lone has put together a stunning three-track EP titled 'Abraxas' - named after the satanic horn that appears in Nicolas Cage's new cult film Mandy' - that's packed with 303 acid experiments and electrifying breaks.

To celebrate the arrival of this noteworthy release, Lone has kindly handed over EP's closing track 'How Can You Tell' - a choral and divine escapade into the lauded artist's multifaceted sound.

Premiere: Lone 'How Can You Tell'

'Cid Inc's Replug Records opens the 2019 summer season by welcoming Alex O'Rion to the label for his debut EP. As one of the Netherlands most highly regarded and sought after artists, the Nijkerk resident has found a home on Hernan Cattaneo's Sudbeat Music, where he has released three artist EPs since making his debut in January of 2018. Also a highly regarded DJ, Alex has programmed music for some of the world's most iconic clubs, namely Ministry Of Sound and Fabric. Now fresh off a Spring release for Nick Warren's Hope Recordings, the Dutch artist lands on Replug for his debut EP entitled 'Marathon'. 

Continuing what has been a remarkable year for Alex is the EP's opener and title selection 'Marathon'. Enticing from the start, it's perfectly sculpted beats are warm and powerful, anchoring what is a rippling, free flowing foundation. Crafted with precision and care, layers of hypnotic percussion are blanketed with swirling atmospherics, ghostly vocal edits and fragmented melodies. Intrigue peaks as the main break unfolds, with hazy harmonic concepts and granular design uniting for an exhilarating apex, before ushering in a groovy drop and emotive finale. 

The journey continues with the driving vibes of 'Blaze'. Immediately captivating, it's billowing bass tones and finely tuned percussion play off a robust rhythmic core, making for a devilish, hip swinging groove. It's hypnotic appeal grows subtly, as vocal fragments and luminous tones add an emotive slant to what is an already mystical storyboard. Almost like a sonic comet, it's fiery energy melts down into a break of muted beats and astral designs, before a collage of tripped out harmonics sets the stage for an otherworldly conclusion.

The release is capped off in fine fashion with the introspective moods of 'L'Arbre Des Contes'. Expertly joining the past to the future, Alex marries sophisticated melodic motifs with meditative rhythms and tranquil textures. It's a unique and highly engaging storyboard, perhaps one of the Dutch artist's most heartfelt to date in fact, a creation to cherish for special occasions and no doubt a highly memorable selection for your dance floor. Groovy and emotive in equal measure, it rounds out what is an astute collection of music from Alex O'Rion, making for yet another extraordinary addition to Replug's impeccable discography. '

It's hypnotic, it's heavy, it's techno – it is the next Jannowitz Records release with a very special producer who has been successfully managing several labels over the last few years. We're talking about Spanish DJ Dani Sbert who runs Bully Beatz, UFO Records, Sbert Recordings and Psykometrik Recordings. His output is unbelievable –it almost seems like this uber producer spends 24 hours a day in the studio. Which is the main reason why his tracks are not only unique but also extremely well produced. 
For us Dani put together „People EP“ with two minimalistic, percussive techno tracks that live off an interplay between kickdrum, hi-hat and vocal samples. „People“ is more peaktime oriented with synth elements pushing through a rolling bassline driven by the percussions. 
„Perception“ is a little more laid back and spirals you even more into a hypnosis with loops repeating themselves throughout the track. 
It's a similar aesthetic tot he fourth track of the EP – in standard Jannowitz manner there is of course a remix on this EP. The duo Cachette is one of our hottest underground suggestions. They have released on Senso Sounds and Set About and match the darker Jannowitz sound perfectly. The „People“ remix has a more progressive touch to it but without losing Dani's soul. But with its extra long break it intentionally sets itself apart from the original track. 
Last but not least are the two label heads Juan DDD & Celic from Columbia are currently on all known labels like Terminal M - Form - 1605 etc. Their sound is super groovy and their remix has given the whole release the cream of the crop.

I was asked recently if I'm always playing the same tracks during weeks and I was thinking about this question. Well, of course not. But it depends! As a DJ you are flexible and can play whatever you want, however your mood is. But I'm not changing my playlist 100% every weekend. So it's always like this: few new tracks were added to my playlist, few tracks went out. For this gig in Toulouse I had the pleasure to play the sunset. So I started with melodic and deep tracks, ending with more progressive and dark stuff. Finally it's all about how I feel it. 

Just a little insight. :-)

"What started as an idea has turned into a project of love, dedication and old fashioned blood, sweat and tears, Hijacker Records strive to give great electronic music a platform to be heard. This time they team up with co founder of Hijacker Records ,Steve Britton, and after two years in the studio, Steve will finally see the release of his debut album ‘Alias’ in 2019. 

Steve is a London-based electronic DJ and producer who made his mark on the industry through multi city club nights and the launch of UV Festival. Steve's productions are influenced by electro and progressive house as well as techno and electronica, Steve’s music draws inspiration from a diverse range of artists including Jeremy Olander, Kolsch, Stephan Bodzin, and Jon Hopkins.

His arrangements blend classical composition with contemporary production, often dovetailing the emotive with the uplifting, combining driving bass lines and soaring leads and theres are the production narratives we see him excel at within the confines of this album
