Before we continue Passenger 10's exploring world tour, we'd like to invite you to a short halt at the CARNEGIE HALL. The concert venue in New York City, designed by architect William Burnet Tuthill and built by philanthropist Andrew Carnegie in 1891. It is one of the most prestigious venues in the world for both classical music and popular music.
Well, now we have to take a closer look at the question why our virtual globetrotter picked that name for his latest work:
"When I composed this distinctive piano melody", says Passenger 10, "I was wondering how this would sound in a hall like the Carnegie Hall, supported and accompanied by a large orchestra. How would one of the big composers of the past have handled to perform this track to really squeeze the most out of it? I for myself decided to build an atmosphere sound-design consisting of organic and synthesized elements around the piano melody, creating a teasing arpeggio line and keeping the chord progression going all the way through the track to not loose the power of the energetic melody and chords."

"An iconic figure within the underground dance fraternity for over a decade, Rich Curtis makes his Meanwhile debut with an iconic track in the shape of “Square Root (’21 Salute)”.
 
Rich Curtis has been a regular on an array of blue-chip labels over the course of a stellar career which has seen releases on Sudbeat Music, Tulipa Recordings, Proton Music and Replug. Indeed, it was the Cid Inc. owned imprint that Curtis made his 2010 debut with “Square Root”. Now reprising the track with a 2022 makeover, the “(’21 Salute)” is a rich and textured affair that retains all the melodic hallmarks of the original while updating the sound with beautifully woven new motifs and sparking arpeggio. Sounding bright and warm in the spring sun, Rich Curtis has breathed new life into his renowned track.
 
Another artist with an impressive portfolio of music to his name and reputation to match, Alex O’Rion has found his work allied to a host A-list imprints including the likes of Replug, Sudbeat Music and Guy J’s Lost & Found. A regular contributor to Meanwhile with 2021’s “Echium” EP and remixes for GMJ & Matter’s “Gauntlet”, The Dutch master returns to the label with a typically evocative offering. Making beautiful use of Curtis’ original components they are complemented with a slew of additional production material that extends his remix with spine-tingling new melodies that blossom in the breakdown and second half. A hefty rhythmic backdrop and ticking percussive groove add further to the powerful new interpretation.

Opening track Romeo revolves around a sparse, dramatic bassline and similarly sentimental synths, making for introspective flashes on the dancefloor.

On November we’re greeted by grand melodies with huge, spacious pads and monumental breakdowns, the perfect ingredients to spark up those emphatic, hands-in-the-sky type of moments.

Meanwhile, Monocloque flips the script and reveals ample pads in a spectral, dark sound palette, decked with ominous synths and looming resolutions.

Splatters of percussion and haphazard chords are key on Compass North, rounding up the release in a similarly lofty yet dance-provoking manner.

Flipping to the B side, WhoMadeWho deliver two remixes, first with their remix of Alex Schaufel's 'The Day Of Rebirth' which moves into more emotionally dramatic moments while their genre spanning rework of Concret & Tyu's 'BlackBlueYellowGreen' hits that euphoric uplifting chord.

'Cid Inc's Replug Records opens the 2019 summer season by welcoming Alex O'Rion to the label for his debut EP. As one of the Netherlands most highly regarded and sought after artists, the Nijkerk resident has found a home on Hernan Cattaneo's Sudbeat Music, where he has released three artist EPs since making his debut in January of 2018. Also a highly regarded DJ, Alex has programmed music for some of the world's most iconic clubs, namely Ministry Of Sound and Fabric. Now fresh off a Spring release for Nick Warren's Hope Recordings, the Dutch artist lands on Replug for his debut EP entitled 'Marathon'. 

Continuing what has been a remarkable year for Alex is the EP's opener and title selection 'Marathon'. Enticing from the start, it's perfectly sculpted beats are warm and powerful, anchoring what is a rippling, free flowing foundation. Crafted with precision and care, layers of hypnotic percussion are blanketed with swirling atmospherics, ghostly vocal edits and fragmented melodies. Intrigue peaks as the main break unfolds, with hazy harmonic concepts and granular design uniting for an exhilarating apex, before ushering in a groovy drop and emotive finale. 

The journey continues with the driving vibes of 'Blaze'. Immediately captivating, it's billowing bass tones and finely tuned percussion play off a robust rhythmic core, making for a devilish, hip swinging groove. It's hypnotic appeal grows subtly, as vocal fragments and luminous tones add an emotive slant to what is an already mystical storyboard. Almost like a sonic comet, it's fiery energy melts down into a break of muted beats and astral designs, before a collage of tripped out harmonics sets the stage for an otherworldly conclusion.

The release is capped off in fine fashion with the introspective moods of 'L'Arbre Des Contes'. Expertly joining the past to the future, Alex marries sophisticated melodic motifs with meditative rhythms and tranquil textures. It's a unique and highly engaging storyboard, perhaps one of the Dutch artist's most heartfelt to date in fact, a creation to cherish for special occasions and no doubt a highly memorable selection for your dance floor. Groovy and emotive in equal measure, it rounds out what is an astute collection of music from Alex O'Rion, making for yet another extraordinary addition to Replug's impeccable discography. '

Multi-platinum selling producer, composer, musician, and DJ, Matt Lange challenges categorization; equipped with an instinctual ear for creating music and an insatiable drive to explore the aural spectrum.

Lange’s career began working alongside multi-instrumentalist and producer Brian Transeau (BT), co-producing the album "These Hopeful Machines," earning him a Grammy Award-nomination in 2011. Matt then went on to co-write and produce Glenn Morrison’s "Goodbye (feat. Islove)" which was nominated as Dance Recording of the Year at the 2015 Juno Awards and later hit double platinum. Most recently, Lange was a producer on the Thirty Seconds To Mars album "AMERICA," which debuted #2 on the Billboard Top 200 chart.

An adept music composer, and sound designer, Lange has created and licensed works for the blockbuster films Ready Player One, Blade Runner 2049, Deadpool 2, The Fast & Furious 8, and Transformers: The Last Knight along with video game franchises Counter-Strike Global Offensive, Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six Siege, and DOTA II.

As an artist, Matt Lange has released records with some of the most influential electronic dance music labels in the industry such as Anjunabeats, mau5trap, and Armada and has performed across esteemed venues and festivals like Output, Sound Nightclub, Ministry of Sound, TomorrowWorld, EDC, and SXSW. Unburdened by genre and trends, the signature of Lange’s work is the relentless devotion to pushing music into the future.

Matt is also the host of Tap Tempo, a podcast which features insightful interviews with peers and collaborators ranging from A-list composers to DJs and includes artists from all backgrounds.
