If Pink Floyd, Metallica, Alice in Chains, Tool, and The Black Keys had a baby - that'd be Split Remedy. The sound is a mix of traditional and experimental rock ranging from hard rock to alternative to progressive. Inspired by '80s-90's metal, grunge bands, and classic 70's rock, Cynic's Society packages those sounds and brings them into a modern age adding just a touch of electronica.

There's a heavy focus on melodic electric guitar, fun drum riffs, a solid bass backbone, a touch of keyboard/synth, and dark psychoanalytical lyrics. Every song dives into the understanding of our souls and the human condition, intended to connect with the darkness and struggles that we face daily.  The lead singer, CJ Kortes, also a guitarist of 22 years, goes by the name Cynic with fans referred to as Cynic's.

Cynic's Society was formed in 2014 in Dallas, TX, by CJ Kortes. For years the focus was songwriting and recording for personal enjoyment. In 2018 after 2 test albums entitled "The End of New Times" and "Fornever," CJ  created and released the first official album under his original band name Split Remedy, EP titled "The Same."

Ready to hit the music scene, CJ moved to New York City in 2019 to record and release his first official 14 track album titled "The Human Condition."  The album was published under Cynic's music label, Split Remedy Media. Prepared to tackle the music industry and connect with rock cynics, the future has only just begun for Cynic's Society.

I like to put genres into a blender to see what comes out. I play guitar and sing mostly. But I enjoy experimenting with new styles of music.
