Part of our newly conscripted roster, Weska has been shaping his thick, punchy, highly polished sound from way up in Toronto, as resident at the sound Mind crews parties, he has formulated a particularly sharp ended production style that runs deep through these hypnotic tracks. We drafted in a very specific remixer for this EP, Joran Van Pol has created some of the most stripped down and stark slabs of dance of music this last year on labels like Minus and Rejected, and here he has moulded the title track into a slow motion, low slung masterpiece.

Techno two-piece Slam (Stuart McMillan & Orde Meikle) bring the new double vinyl album Machine Cut Noise to the forefront next month Stuart and Orde's day-to-day proceedings consist of maximum time spent on the road, in airports and hotels; which also forms the creative hub for their music-making. It's this transitory state that largely dominates the vibe on Machine Cut Noise.

With each of the album's eleven tracks handed its own unique energy, this concept is probably depicted most prevalently in "Psalm". There is a deep emotional core found within this programmed 7.5-minute piece. It conjures a direction that 'has been paved by the machines which surround us'. A technophile's voyage into the unknown we strongly recommend getting on board with.

Machine Cut Noise comes out on 28th October on Slam's own Soma Records.

We’re back again with another SUM package, and this release sees us stepping into our third year of churning out cuts from a variety of names spanning fresh faces to established artists.
SUM 5 kicks off with newcomer ALO’s fierce ‘Return’ where chaos crescendos over an unrelenting bass line before Christopher Lawrenz delivers a wild groover with enough energy to blow the roof off any club with his cut ‘ASIN’. Heavy hitter and man of the hour Eats Everything steps up next and provides another rave anthem on ‘Rollathonic’ before Housemeister’s ‘Am Puls der Zeit’ takes matters into deeper and more dramatic territories with shimmering synthesizers and lush harmonics which couldn’t be farther from JNO’s ‘Generation ID’ which focuses on heavy, fast paced percussion to take the club to the next level. Diving into more sinister territories, Klangkuenstler’s ‘Continuum’ is an intense ride not for the faint of heart whereas Lerio Corrado’s ‘Parabellum’ keeps the tough edge but balances it expertly with just the right amount of debauchery. Martin Eyerer follows suit with a chaotic, yet insanely euphoric blinder with ‘Mineral’ before Niereich & Linus Quick deliver a massive tune with the perfect Rave throwback vibe on ‘Secrets’. Next to last is the gorgeous, energetic and instantly unforgettable ‘Long Awaited Dawn’ from Paride Saraceni before Ryan McKay’s pulse pounding ‘Acid Control’ wraps up SUM 5 with a bang.

We love the ocean. we are fascinated by it, so much that it remains unexplored by human beings. We discovered that the diluted seawater consisted of nearly the same concentration of elements and minerals as blood plasma and we felt in love of it. During the course of our researches we had the occasion to examine not only plants and simple compounds but also a great number of minerals and the result of these studies are synthesized in a new debut brand EP called "Materia", signed by the Italian dj/producer Simone Allegri. Already known as Simon Prod, he delivered us three original compositions, a complete and profound musical story characterised by long reverberations, organic melodies and elegant sounds. His skills as music producer has been recorded around the world more and more times and his music is being supported by important artists and labels in the underground scene.

The Materia's Ep begins with "Opal" a mystical journey of synthesizers and refined rhythmics, a soft and hypnotic deep moment. As a second track we have "Nova" which takes the name of a strong explosion of a white dwarf star, a grooving journey into the astral levels of our consciousness. Simone gives us "Materia" to close with something more intimate, a melodic trip surrounded by blurred soundscapes and seductive grooves.

Premiere: Adana Twins - Pavan [TAU]

Jerome Isma-ae combines the behind-the-curtain knowledge of a music producer, with the familiarity and deep knowledge of a dance floor you would expect from a DJ. Broad in his influences, and a visionary in his approach, you’ll always catch a hint of progressiveness in his sound. Jerome has been surrounded by music since his early years, with musical education in elementary school, learning the piano and later the guitar. At 12, Jerome was already playing the bass guitar in a heavy metal band, but it wasn’t until 14 that he started making his own beats with a drum machine.
Having dabbled in many dance music subgenres, you will catch glimpses of Techno, Trance, and Progressive House in his productions. A mean and heavy rhythm section is contrasted against haunting harmonies and counter melodies, and complimented by ambient and textural layers that add a new dimension to the final product. This formula is applied with top-notch clarity and a meticulous attention to detail to such an extent that the sound of his drums has become both recognizable and memorable.
