Astraltopia is the third and final compilation in the Topia series, as well as the terminal release in the Astral Plane Recordings catalog. Made up of contributions from longtime APR artists and friends, Astraltopia traverses outgrowths of past label releases, novel sonic formulations and the infra-zones between and underneath extant club sounds. Accompanied by artwork from Sam Meier and mastering by Will Mitchell, the compilation follows 2012’s Heterotopia and 2015’s Psychotropia, both of which preceded the formal inauguration of Astral Plane Recordings. Contributions include material from Alis, Amazondotcom, CHANTS, Dane Law, LOFT, Maral, MICHAELBRAILEY (with Iceboy Violet), nunu and SHALT. 'Aviario' is a collaborative EP by Ecuadorian electronic music producers Entrañas and Ene Ese, alongside visual artist Destello. The release coalesces the unique sonic palette, textures and rhythms of Ecuadorian music with the darkness of Club and Bass music. Taking influence from bird species inhabiting the diverse ecosystems of Ecuador, Entrañas and Ene Ese seamlessly transmute delicately layered soundscapes and birdsong into cutting drum patterns, creating invigorating compositions that spotlight the rich musical heritage of Ecuador and its natural environment.

'Aviario' ranges sonically from moments of ambient textural exploration in 'Trogón', to dance floor ready tracks such as the single 'Huiracchuro' where overdriven melodies weave between sultry drums making heavy use of 6/8 polyrhythms found in Ecuadorian genres such as Albazo and Bomba. The third track 'Curiquingüe' features additional composition from producer Zunfo.

The EP is accompanied by six corresponding artworks by Destello, who reimagines the colours and forms of the birds into candescent abstractions.

Chapultepec (“grasshopper hill” in Nahuatl) has been a vital part of Mexico City for almost 600 years. A hydraulic marvel designed by the texcocan Tlatoani Nezahualcóyotl to work as a lung in one of the biggest cities on the planet. 

Throughout 19 tracks Lao explores the imaginative and timeless possibilities of Chapultepec in the form of deep melodies, organic textures, and tribal percussive patterns influenced by Jungle and Rave. The album is a homage to CDMX, the Mexican electronic music scene, and its dancefloor for the last 15 years.

Novi Sad based DJ and event organiser Pirinač is distinguished by his rhythmically diverse and explosive sets. Pirinač’s style of matching and mixing music stems from his favorite video games, which shaped both his private and musical persona. Ultimately, the goal is not only having an arsenal at your disposal, but using and blending it infinitely, with no fear of experiment and without limitation. Starting in his hometown Zrenjanin and formerly a member of the Ferka collective, he’s been part of the local underground for a while - notably performing at Raprave season 0 opening, HiddenBG invites Jensen Interceptor and Mostly joking invites Hajj. Hе’s been part of the Gomila collective since 2023, and more recently a part of the Slutka collective. He is also the main organizer of the mini festival and event series, Shades Marathon.

Scores is a compilation exploring musical notations and how they can be interpreted as sounds. People have always tried to translate sonic expressions into visual cues that could be archived, passed down, and transformed back into music. 

From symbols to numbers, grids, staffs, figures or abstract shapes, several languages have been developed and continuously questioned to improve the ability to retain the emotion and meaning sounds can convey - what lies behind the veil.
 
What if this time, the notation would come beforehand?

The project unfolded in two phases. In the first one, visual artists from the Global URL Nation could propose one sheet of music score, free of interpretation. They were invited to play with musical notations and explore what it would even mean.

In the second phase, artists from GUN could pick one sheet and create a track trying to follow it as much as possible. It invited them to question music as a physical object, with its shapes, colors, textures and layers with the following :

__How is the overall composition? Are there any axis or lines that could be interpreted as a timeline or a melodic scale?
__How many discrete elements are in the image? How are they laid out?
__What are the shapes involved?  What is their scale? Do they have sharp or blurry outlines?
__What are the colors/textures used? How do they relate with each other in terms of tones, contrasts…?
__How are the different elements layered on top of each other? Are they superimposed or do they merge in some way?
__How would they translate them in musical terms, such as textures, notes, structures, timbres, rhythms, dynamics? 

It welcomed Bademjan, Baje Nunca, C+Vis, Capiuz, Clair X, C.T.A.A.M.  Ecovoron, Epiphagi, HeedLess, Mambo Kahn, migu, POL100, Yau Hei ASJ & Ziyiz for 14 tracks ranging from ethereal scorescapes to hyperstimulating scratches. Sounds and shapes weave together, blurring the boundaries between the two media to create one whole entity

About Let's Collapse

Let’s Collapse is a collaboration EP between Pixelord and Max Dahlhaus in Moscow and Berlin, respectively. The illusion of the global village, which it seems like yesterday’s, collapsed due to the outbreak of covid-19, but none of this can prevent people from contacting each other. This EP shows how the artists feel in it.

Both artists are good at creating cold music, and the collision of ideas has produced many wonderful changes in the results. The whole EP is like a roaring turbo engine, and the huge sound continuously presses our hearts. There is always some strange but beautiful sound between the heavy drums and the rough background noise, when they appear, it will make the listener's scalp tremble like two sharp pieces of metal rubbed in a flash. All these sounds constitute a sci-fi world, and the rich details bring people into endless spaces of imagination. The world is constantly destroyed and rebuilt in the journey of the seven tracks, and the epic ending leaves all this to the unknown.
